Hello, A friend and I have observed in the main DCS log that DCS detects Process Lasso running in the background: 2024-12-28 11:11:28.856 WARNING APP (Main): ProcessLasso is running We both have been using Process Lasso to run DCS as we got noticeable performance improvements. I am still getting those improvements, but my friend (with a more powerful machine) has stopped using Lasso, as DCS was not running smooth for him after the latest updates. I guess something has improved or changed in DCS' CPU core management, and I also wonder if that warning in the DCS log points in that direction. Can Process Lasso impact DCS' performance negatively after the latest updates? My friend's case suggests that. The DCS log also classifies cores in terms of efficiency and class, indicating sets for each use (common, render, I/O): 2024-12-28 11:11:26.166 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same efficiency class 1 2024-12-28 11:11:26.166 INFO EDCORE (Main): all CPU cores have the same performance class 1 2024-12-28 11:11:26.166 INFO EDCORE (Main): common cores: {6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 15} 2024-12-28 11:11:26.166 INFO EDCORE (Main): render cores: {1, 2, 3, 4, 5} 2024-12-28 11:11:26.166 INFO EDCORE (Main): IO cores: {} (Note that not all of my cores are visible here, as I was running Process Lasso to create affinities for DCS) Some guidance and details on these aspects from the ED staff would be highly appreciated, as we have not found many details in the release notes of the latest updates. It could help us players a lot when optimizing our systems. Thanks in advance!

Coming back to DCS after a long time putting together a new build. Currently have the following components: i5 11400 Galax 2070 super OC Wanting to know the capabilities of the gpu, in particular and if I would be able to run a quest 2 decently? Likewise do I need 32 gb of ram? Any other recommendations are much appreciated.

Hi there folks! I've got a brand new intel i7 11700K for sale that I bought two weeks ago but changed plans, made a mistake of opening the box and thus can't return it to the seller. If anybody is interested, feel free to PM your offer / delivery country. Sending from Poland.

I have done several performance tests of my newest hardware and compared them with each other. I have used DCS World 2.8.3.38090 Open Beta with Single Thread ST and Multiple Threads MT with an Instant Mission: AH-64D, map "Marianas" - Battle for Saipan: Dawn Invasion" After starting the mission, I have pressed OK, then [Right-STRG + Break/Pause] for two times (for displaying the frame rate) and then I have pressed the space bar. Directly after that I have checked the frame rate. I know that my graphic settings are very hard.....: null All CPUs as well as GPUs are slightly overclocked, except the CPU Intel I5-13500. Here are the results, including the fps / framerates in DCS World with ST and MT: Here as a table: 4K performance comparison between four of my computers Type Description CPU GPU RAM DCS World Battle for Saipan – Dawn Invasion Time Spy Time Spy Extreme Port Royal ST MT Total Graphics Score CPU Score PC Self build Intel i7-12700KF (12 Cores, 25MB Cache) RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X 64 DDR5-6000 84 98 („GPU-Bound“) 31977 37570 17394 16227 27128 PC Self build Intel i5-13500 (14 Cores, 24 MB Cache) RTX 3080 LHR 10GB GDDR6 32 DDR5-4800 48 58 („GPU-Bound“) 17325 17624 15810 8406 11529 PC Self build Intel i7-2600k @ 4.5 Ghz (4 Cores, 8MB Cache) RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GDDR6 16 DDR3-1600 21 38 (fast changes between „CPU-“ and „GPU-bound“) 9996 14096 3775 4506 8941 Notebook Alienware 17 R5 Intel i7-8750H (6 Cores, 8MB Cache, up to 3.9GHz with Turbo Boost) GTX 1070 OC 8GB GDDR5 32 DDR4-2666 6 7 („GPU-Bound“) 4404 4459 4118 1815 1030

I just bought a Ryzen 7 5800 chip, (8 core..). New motherboard. I already have 48gig Ram. SSD drives, Niveda GPU. I am reading that DCS does not use 8 cores. Did I just waste my money? I have $2000 in Joystick, throttle, and Rudder. 5 touch screens, Android, and Win 11 comp. If so, were should I have put my money. advice please.

Unfortunately the latest update has brought back some similar problems as the original 2.9 update did for me. I only seem to get lag in when I am CPU bound, so I thought I would turn down all system settings that mention CPU usage, the result was I was even more CPU bound? So I upped all the sliders you can while in game, clutter/grass, forest visibility etc, and straight away became GPU bound most of the time and much smoother gameplay. I have seen this stressing the graphics card "fix" when I was looking for a solution to the lag that 2.9 introduced for me. So what what settings affect GPU more than CPU?
