If I try to launch DCS-MT with the VR option turned on in the options, the game will not launch. If I go into the config.lua and change VR to false, MT launches without a problem. While in MT, I put the checkmark for use VR heaset the game will not launch. I added the mt.lua into the config folder and ran DCS-MT.exe and the game would not launch. I have attached the log file. NOTE: I can lauch DCS normal with the VR headset option enabled. System: 5800X3D with 6800XT 16GB. No overclock on CPU or GPU. dcs.log

Hey! I have an Index and a Quest 2. I usually play DCS in my Index. Using the regular Beta client, this still works absolutely fine. However, if I try and set the MT version to launch in VR mode, it completely refuses to open in Steam VR on my Index. Instead it keeps opening Oculus Home (even though my Quest isn't plugged in or turned on) and the game still just keeps running in 2D. If I plug in my Quest 2 and turn it on, it will happily launch right into the Quest in VR mode but I'd much rather use my Index (comfort and FoV). I saw some comments about Skate zilla's tool (which I'd never heard of until now) but alas, that isn't helping me either as it appears you choose a build by selecting the parent folder for the build, rather than the bin folder containing the .exe. I also tried opening Steam VR first, then launching the MT client, to no avail. Does anyone know a workaround for this? It's super challenging even googling for help on this as the search terms are always so broad. Thanks. Ps. I'm an absolute novice with DCS - I only play it every now and then so go easy on me with the nomenclature. I'll likely need help with context if there are any super technical answers. Thanks again PPs. This is the native DCS client I'm using, not the Steam version.

So I have an 11700F in a pre built pc (judge away) been fighting bugs in DCS VR since inception but finally got the base game (I play on standalone and mostly pve on base maps). Downloaded multithread beta and did some testing with tracks between MT and OG style threading. On MT, with the in game FPS counter, it says it's CPU capped, however, I get no bottleneck notifier in single thread. Frame difference between the two is 3-5FPS but inconsistently. Any ideas other than a new CPU and MOBO??? Full specs in comments- help me find the missing frames please!!! I did some additional testing unfortunately im not smart enough to track logs or explain this but I'll try. Capped at 45fps in Quest software, I can consistently get 35-40fps in Single thread by turning basically everything down to low and a couple items to medium. However, same exact settings in MT, I still get wild fluctuations from 22fps to mayyyybe 32 was the highest I saw. The only explanation I have for this is that my single thread game is installed to the nvme and multithread beta is installed on an external USB 3.0 ssd. I MAY have answered my own question but im coming to the pros seeking advice and correction if I haven't. I'm not looking for wild 120fps on the oculus, just a good balance of being able to read DDIs and go from being heads down in the cockpit to heads up without frame drop or hitching that causes me to miss things. My tests were done using a low level track about 60sec long on an empty caucuses map in the F18, and similar results were duplicated in the uh1h. If I try to launch with vr (standalone using the shortcut with modifier to force enable vr), DCS will launch as it would if it was in vr. it has the skewed aspect and the offset view like it is trying to use my headset position. but it is not displayed in my headset nor does it react to my headset moving (valve index). Tried installing steam version and dcs not recognizing the headset there either. headset enabled in settings but only launches in 2d even with vr already running. normal DCS standalone version (not mt) DOES read my headset normally and vr functions fine

Hi, I have a done a forum search and cannot find any other posts. Anybody getting FPS spikes in the AH64? I get really good FPS but am getting FPS Spikes/drops every couple of secs say from 110 down to 60. This is of course causing a little lag pause. AH64 appears to be the only module I am getting this in.

This only exists in the MT version the ST version does not do this. When launching missions, especially the first one after the app launch. The progress bar would show no activity for 1-2 minutes. After that initial mission, it would progress normally or very fast for several more missions. But then might slow again. After updating to the latest NVidia driver 532.29, that extended to several minutes. I started looking at the log files and DCS was always stuck on the same log entry. 2023-03-14 21:02:55.871 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13 After several rounds of trials, I finally found the root cause. I was able to get it working and created a log file with the following excerpt. 2023-03-14 21:17:55.854 INFO TERRAIN (Main): lSystem::CleanScenes() 2023-03-14 21:17:55.854 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13 2023-03-14 21:18:13.565 INFO EDTERRAIN4 (Main): TERRAIN_REVISION = 5124 You can see that it only took 18 seconds to complete the "EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13" operation. My only complaint about this now is there is no progress bar update during this. There appears to be updating on the ST version. Edited Here - Please read this After even more of the same issue, I think I have found the proper correct cause and good workaround. It appears to be a file system deadlock. It happens whenever I would start a mission that used a different map from the last. What I have found is that I can break the deadlock just by opening a folder or some other file operation. This results in an immediate release of the deadlock situation. Edited Again 3/16 2:45 The actual workaround may be interacting with the UI of another app. I was fooled into thinking it was manipulating folders in file explorer. But I have found that other apps work even quicker. Simply moving the mouse across an open browser will do the same. In addition to updating my Nvidia driver I also updated windows. I am running Windows 11 Pro Build 22621. I and I now believe the windows update created the exasperated issue. Overall this has been an extremely positive upgrade to the sim. Thank you very much. Cheers. bad.dcs.log good.dcs.log

I have done several performance tests of my newest hardware and compared them with each other. I have used DCS World 2.8.3.38090 Open Beta with Single Thread ST and Multiple Threads MT with an Instant Mission: AH-64D, map "Marianas" - Battle for Saipan: Dawn Invasion" After starting the mission, I have pressed OK, then [Right-STRG + Break/Pause] for two times (for displaying the frame rate) and then I have pressed the space bar. Directly after that I have checked the frame rate. I know that my graphic settings are very hard.....: null All CPUs as well as GPUs are slightly overclocked, except the CPU Intel I5-13500. I have tried using the shortcut modifiers --force_enable_VR --force_openXR and DCS will not launch. If I take away the modifiers and log into DCS MT, it will load like a 2D game. Then I go into the settings and enable VR headset in the options. DCS MT will try to restart and it will fail to launch again. No mods enabled, did repair, still no luck. Normal DCS will work in both 2D and VR. No issues at all there. Only DCS MT is a problem. NOTE: 1145 - I just deleted my DCS game folder, renamed my saved games folder and am now re-downloading DCS. dcs.log
