All Until ED fix the Apache radios, presets and associated triggers, you MUST MUST MUST manually input all freqs (unless Foghorn does so- except current Jul24 release M12) Even at mission start regardless of whether freqs look OK. Please manually re-input This is a core DCS issue, not 1 of my doing. Can't stress this enough Also, new launcher apparently forces EASY COMMS ON. So we'll worth checking it's OFF before starting Thanks for your patience and understanding Florence Fight's On Sims

Hi everyone, In the recently released newsletter there was a document for the new voice chat feature, on page 10, there was a control menu example, with PTTs explicitly for voice chat. Would it be possible to instead use the current PTTs/transmit switches and related controls that are already implemented for modules (which currently bring up the communications menu), allowing voice chat controls to be bound on a per module basis? A possible difficulty however, will be the current communications menu, which is what the current controls bring up. Perhaps it could be set up such that if whatever PTT button/mic switch is quickly pressed and released (within a small fraction of a second) it brings up the current communications menu (allowing you to talk to ground crew, ATC etc, like we do now), and a press with a longer time before release inhibits the radio menu and just uses voice chat. EDIT: Another possible problem with this is how would custom radios be facilitated? Particularly if you've got more radios than the module's switchology supports, perhaps that's where dedicated global keybinds could come in. Or maybe module specific 'custom radio x' binds. EDIT: Deka with the JF-17 seem to be providing both a short-press/long-press option as described above, as well as a dedicated set of keys for the communications menu, and another dedicated set for voice chat, users can then choose what suits them best (personally, I think this is the best solution). EDIT: Though, regarding the current system: How are modules which have more radios than PTT switches going to be handled? For instance in aircraft like the Huey and C-101, there's only 1 transmit switch, and a selector to select which radio you're transmitting on. Will the current, dedicated, global voice-chat PTT binds key their own radios (allowing you to bypass the selector) or will they key transmit switches in modules? So for instance, in the Huey, would the current 'cockpit r.1 VoIP PTT' bind transmit on whatever radio 1 is (and r.2, r.3 will be for whatever their respective radios are), or will it simply key the transmit switch, and the radio you actually transmit on will be controlled by the selector dial. EDIT: modules seem to use their real world controls, and if there is a radio selector, you have to use it. EDIT: @NineLine can this get moved to the appropriate section that was newly created? EDIT: Thank-you!

Normally the '\' communication device will pick the last selected COM1 or COM2 as picked by the COM/IFF hat on the throttle. However before either radio is selected for the first time there is no last used and the '\' communication device will use both radios simultaneously which is physically impossible. This is a minor issue by itself. If one radio is being transmitted on (e.g. COM1 to ATC) and a second message is sent by the other radio (e.g. COM2) both will occur simultaneously and the first radio message will never end making further radio messages impossible. Possible solutions are to: Prevent '\' device in the air Initialize '\' device to the #1 radio Blocking or interrupting logic such that two radios cannot transmit simultaneously F16 Radio simultaneous stuck.trk

Ciao All I find a problem when switching the radio via a 4 way switch on my X56 throttle: I have mapped SEL RADIO 1 and SEL RADIO 2 and XMIT CH1 and XMIT CH2 on each position, but when I try to switch, the radio I choose is selected, but the one that i leave turns into GUARD, and all the frequency preset are erased. If I switch back, I have to reselect the radio I left to restore the prestes, while the radio i left is becoming GUARD. I.e. If i choose the SEL, one of the two radio becomes guard and loses the channel preset. Do I have to change something, or is a correct behaviour? ciao

Interactive mission creation is crippled by the inability in Multiplayer missions to know when a player aircraft has tuned to a specific radio frequency correctly (or at all). A world.event generated whenever ANY player in the mission tunes a radio, or switches to a radio that provides not only the unitName, but also the radio unit AND the freq it's tuned to would be tremendously helpful. Yes, if they were tuning from say 120.0 to 127.50 then it would fire an event for every frequency in between, but it's not hard to capture the last one and compare to the next event. Or, perhaps this can only fire when the tuning has stopped (i.e. waiting for a time > 'a specified delay' = final freq). Either way, knowing when a MP aircraft has tuned to the correct frequency allows the mission creator to be able to play specific audio/send specific text to that unit and update that Group's (better if it was UNIT level) F10 Radio Menu with options based upon what they're now hearing/reading.

Have 1 kneeboard page that displays the radio frequency for each preset, without that I’m manually dialing every channel in multiplayer
