Airway Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 From what I am reading this is not actually money, or even credit, back toward another purchase. What it is, is points that can be used for a maximum of 20% of a future purchase. Looing at the posts by hawk2495 and TimeKilla, that is the maximum the system would do for them. The next Steam sale will offer a better price. At least when my credit card company gives me points, I can use them all at once!! I don't know where you are reading or if it may be a language barrier, but I collected $32 with my purchases. So I get a possible $29.99 Addon for free or a $39.99 for $8. Really really bad bonus system. This totally sucks! ;) :smilewink:

Cowboy10uk Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Mmmmmm ok, so while the bonus system was a nice surprise and it gave me a nice $42 in credit. It is going to be annoying if when I come to use it, I won't be able to use the credit as I would like. I wonder if anyone from Ed could let us know how this credit can be used. On the bright side, If I can only use $10 at a time, as it only buy full DCS packages it's gonna last for a long time. I hope there's no time limit. Please don't think I'm complaining I'm still quite happy with the credit, but just wondering what the restrictions are. Neither will you be able to get a $39.99 one for $8. That is the point I was making. You will get $10 off the full price!
Frostie Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Alternatively, if you have an available bonus of $180 you can purchase a further 9 full priced DCS products at $30 each, total cost to a valued legendary customer $270, other new to DCS person pays $450. Flogger23m Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I clicked the link in the news thread and place my orders but I get the following: Specified order has no products at a full price with bonuses or you were already issued bonuses for this products Pre-ordered FC3 at full price. Does it not count pre-orders?
cichlidfan Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Pre-ordered FC3 at full price. Does it not count pre-orders? Apparently, since the price of FC3 went up from $39.99 (pre-release price) to $49.99 (current price), it does not count. That must explain it. It would be nice if those that pre-ordered before the extra additions & price increase were announced would get some credit back. We essentially spent $40 to get an F-15 updated + move our other aircraft into World.

tempusmurphy Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 (edited) from the original FC3 announcement post ... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93633 Announcing Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 DUXFORD, UK, September 1st, 2012 – The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics will release Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 for Windows PC in September 2012. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 3 (FC3) is the next evolution of the Flaming Cliffs series. FC3 features the F-15C, A-10A, Su-27, Su-33, MiG-29A, MiG-29S, Su-25T, and Su-25. FC3 aircraft provide an easy learning curve for new players and focuses on a broad range of aircraft rather than a detailed single aircraft. FC3 adds a number of new features and improvements to previous versions of the Flaming Cliffs series. FC3 is a module of DCS: World, which makes it compatible with all other DCS: World titles like A-10C, Black Shark 2, P-51D, and Combined Arms. FC3 will be priced at $39.99.. Nothing about an increase in price after the beta ... But the price did go up when the extras were added... IIRC there was some debate as to weather the extras (more 6dof cockpits and AFMs) would be charged for Edited February 24, 2014 by tempusmurphy
BRooDJeRo Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 So participating in beta products doesn't get you discount. However, the FC3 beta discount is still $10 instead of the 10% of $50 which is double discount. FC3 beta was 39,99, full non-beta is 49,99. I still have a full A-10C version bought on steam in 2010 to register on my DCS account for the discount somehow.

IIRC there was some debate as to weather the extras (more 6dof cockpits and AFMs) would be charged for That is because the original information is outdated. A post made at a later date confirmed they were going to add in more improvements and increase the price to $50, although those who had already bought it would get the $40 price honored. I imagine it would have been a PR nightmare if they started cancelling orders or charging people an additional $10. :) It is not a huge deal, although I would have purchased FC3 for $50 if that was the asking price. I simply bought it the day (or a few days after) it was put up for sale. If the early adopters of FC3 can get this discount that would be great. Just check the date of the order and the update announcement; if the order was placed before then allow those orders to apply for a discount. If ED won't do this then it is not a huge loss. I did buy LOMAC, Flaming Cliffs Gold, Flaming Cliffs 2 and Flaming Cliffs 3 right after they were all released. I think that should count for something. :D

FC3 beta was 39,99, full non-beta is 49,99.Except that DCS A-10C was a beta when I bought it, and it still counts for the bonus. And my BS2 upgrade was neither a beta nor on discount when I purchased it and it does not count for the bonus. Also, the press release says nothing regarding betas or price inflation. I think this is simply a matter of someone writing a program to automatically tag orders for bonuses with the oversight of only basing it on the current price. It does not seem intentional. In any case, I will be submitting a support ticket to have them deal with it. Edited February 25, 2014 by VincentLaw [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Flogger23m Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Looks like it now works with the FC3 purchase from the beta period. Looking forward to using my $8 towards another module. Perhaps the MIG-21.
