Question for BST/Devs/EvilBivol

Well they have managed to get the Huey out of beta, though some announced features still are missing :music_whistling::cry:

Progress on the MI-8 seems quite slow, so I really hope it´s not because they allready have started developement on something else with developers who are needed on the MI-8.

I'm happy to support them by buying early acces to beta versions, but also want to see those beta versions mature into full release versions.

yeah nice somehow..they moved the Huey out of Beta..to calm down everyone, but nothing really has changed:megalol:

I assumed that, for ED products, beta is just a measure of time.

There are loads of tweaks and updates we are waiting for, and not just for the Huey...and I guess BST/ED have a really hard time facing a Comunity screaming for gimmicks and spamming wishlists..so..it comes sooner or later..the only thing that keeps really anoying me are the unsolved and sometime even ignored Bugs..

I don`t care..it is a Computer..a black one..

Something irrelevant, but I will ask. I saw the upcoming saitek x-55 hotas. Is there any possibility that someone out there thinks to build a new Force Feedback joystick in the future? Heli sims need FF stick. We have many hotas and don't know what else, but not a serious ff stick. Logitech G940 was the last...

Because the skills and marketing people you'd need are so vastly different from those for making air sims that they'd end up making a loss because either the price of the joystick wouldn't be high enough to cover expenses, or it would be high enough, in which case few would buy it.

What someone smart person needs to do is invent a universal force feedback attachment that can be connected to ANY joystick :joystick:

And further in a way that the joystick can still be cockpit mounted between your legs like the current TM warthog

 That would be awesome.

Any aircraft with a mixing unit or any kind of SAS (IE any modern aircraft, fixed or rotary) would need force feedback on everything, pedals, cyclic and collective.

Take the blackhawk for example, with the mixing unit you cannot move the cyclic to the right very far without it forcing the collective down and moving the pedals as well.

You dont need force feed back, they can just reduce the effects of the forces acting on the helicopter. For example they just wont put in a large TRQ effect. This will help to simulate the MMU's "Collective to Yaw" function with out needing to have force feed back. Keep in mind that the the MMU is also backed up by other systems that put input directly into the the rotor and not the flight controls, so force feed back is not needed there ether. The point is that there are a lot of work arounds to the MMU that will still allow for a realistic simulator.

Erm, friends, can we keep this thread on topic a bit more? My intent was to get a specific question answered by BST - let's keep it at least to "questions for BST". Thanks! :o)

(if this thread gets moved to chit chat, it's whole purpose would be naught ... :o)

I don't get it ... do we really have to PM everyone (which very likely - but understandably - will be ignored anyways?) in order to get a tiny bit of attention?

Even Wags these days is more silent than he used to be. I can really only hope that all this is a sign for something big, really big is coming.

PLEASE. :noexpression:

I'm not defending the devs, but think about it from their perspective. Everything they *hint* at in a public forum takes on a life of its own and morphs into "ironclad guarantee it'll be released"

So I can see why interacting on a public forum can be difficult.

I'm in product dev, so let's just say that I feel their pain! :)

I am not asking for hints, not even for "progress updates" that the devs seem to fear so much. I am just asking for simple sign of life - and if possible an answer to my specific question.

EB used to comment and reply then and when on various topics, just like any other forum user. Not even that is happening anymore.

I got you. No disagreement there. Just a "still working on project XYZ" w/o any specifics. Interestingly, I kickstarted the WW II sim, and we get an update every Friday (typically)

What I don't get is, do they this deliberately or are they really so overwhelmed with work that they really don't find the peace to go through the forums every odd week for an hour or so?

And in both cases, the question "why is that so?" also comes to mind...

Until then, I feel being treated inpolitely.
