Need-To-Know Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Playing the latest Beta in Multiplayer. Planes on taxiways and runways are jumping all over the place. Being new to multi player is this just something that happens? Looks pretty bad.....and I guess makes me look bad too according to wingman on Teamspeak. Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win. Need-To-Know Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 BTW - We just tested on non beta and everything looked fine. Must be a beta bug. Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win. Callsign: Need Shu-Ha-Ri
ENO Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Probably just don't have enough RAM to run DCS reliably. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Supersheep Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) With 32 GB? Edit: Did I miss a joke here? Could there be clients with mixed versions on the serser? Edited March 11, 2014 by Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
ilikepie Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Good use of sarcasm ENO....understated, with an edge of plausibility coulda said that his specs were just squeaking in to run DCS at a respectable rate. Action After Contemplation
MagicBra Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Did you check that your network speed in the multiplayer configuration is set to LAN and not ADSLxxx ? Trubshaw Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Yes as Magic say check network connection and ping rates of all concerned. We always fly in MP and a solid server is always a must. Cheers [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] TrubshawRN -=SHREK 94=-
ENO Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Did you check that your network speed in the multiplayer configuration is set to LAN and not ADSLxxx ? This isn't a requirement since 127 and in fact is no longer recommended. For missions light on AI and in particular ground units then 1024 is the recommended setting. When more cooperative missions are being played with more ground units then 2048 is the recommended setting. I'm not sure I've since read that any client has had to use over 2048 since 127 for a stable experience. The server computer can still use a LAN setting to sustain upload requirements -or the highest ADSL. Obviously as the clients start using lower settings this puts less upload pressure on the server and can significantly reduce lag / warping. Oh and yes I was kidding around earlier. ;) Edited March 11, 2014 by ENO 1 "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Need-To-Know Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 (edited) Too funny Eno - Actually DCS was the originator of my PC obsession a few years ago when the 2600K came out, now I just keep it upgraded for work....well that is my excuse anyways. :) So just to check - You guys play the latest beta and have no jumping problems? My teammate on TS (and in another country) has the exact same issue. But seems fine on non beta. Will check connection rates and check servers tonight - I have not touched those settings. I have a really good personal connection. Will check all of your recommendations. Thanks for responding! Edited March 11, 2014 by Need-To-Know Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win. ED Team NineLine Posted March 11, 2014 ED Team Posted March 11, 2014 Generally that jumping is related to your connection (either on your end, or the server, or somewhere in between), you can even see jumping if the other guy is having a problem, so it might be someone else with issues or even the server itself. If you see this issue, try jumping inot another server, try finding one with a low ping even, just to try it out.
