Skulleader Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Hello, I meet one problem with my DCS, when I takeoff with my A-10C or SU-25T these two aircrafts roll slowly few degrees on the left wing. So I have unplugged my rudder and still the same problem. I have unplugged my stick and still the same problèm and idem with my throttles. For information all the data from the engines's gauges are the same I've display the monitor (RCTRL+ENTER) and everything is OK when I meet this problem. Of course in my Windows Seven: Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / devices and printers when I test my HOTAS and my Rudder everything is OK also. I've remove my INPUT folder but I meet the same problem... PS: I don't have FC3, just the A-10C, P-51D, Huey, KA-50 and Mi-8. Here the hardware that I have for my DCS: TM Warthog HOTAS + Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals. I've disassembled and cleaned all the elements of my rudder but without result... Please anybody have one idea because this problem drive me crazy. I would like to thank you in advance for your assistance, best regards. txmtb Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Are you trimming the aircraft after takeoff? The A10 requires trimming quite a bit as flight characteristics change with speed/alt/loadout changes. Skulleader Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Hello dear Txmtb ;) Thanks for your assistance  With my A-10C after takeoff I've just trimming in Pitch axis (not trimming in Roll axis) and for these tests there's no wind. And of course no loadout, no weapons. Please can you tell me if it's obligatory or normal to trimming in Roll axis after the takeoff with no weapons, no load and no wind ? Thanks again, Skull :helpsmilie: [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic93192_6.gif[/sIGPIC] My Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006748814655 My P-51D's Mod: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142739 One of my few skins : https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1452845/
ApoNOOB Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Yes it is, you will always trim - only difference in these conditions is that with more wind you will probably have to trim more. :)
hitman Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Correct me if Im wrong, but if the aircraft isnt loaded asymetrically, then there should be no reason an aircraft should favor one side heavy. To me, that would indicate improper maintenance procedures, and the ailerons would have to be readjusted on the ground. The only time that should apply is when the aircraft is prop driven, and the airframe should pull in the opposite direction of torque...and that really would only apply to prop aircraft that are both single engine, or dual opposed engines that cant synchronize engine rpm.
159th_Viper Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Check your flight-stick calibration In-SIM. This is how it should look: I had exactly the same issue. In my instance my wee red 'box' was off-set a half-millimetre or so which resulted in the roll you describe. I calibrated in Windows and the issue sorted itself out as evidenced by the above screenshot. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? txmtb Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 159th_Viper is probably correct. I just flew a pattern with no loadout and no wind. Didn't have any roll issues and did not have to trim except in pitch. Skulleader Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Hello guys, In first I would like to thank you for your answers... Yes it is, you will always trim - only difference in these conditions is that with more wind you will probably have to trim more. But without a wind and without a weapons I must trimming in Roll axis ? Check your flight-stick calibration In-SIM. This is how it should look:After few tests all my axis as your screenshot, my red "box" is well center. I just flew a pattern with no loadout and no wind. Didn't have any roll issues and did not have to trim except in pitch. I follow the same test like you but I must trim in roll, for this pitch it's normal to trim... Thanks again and if you are other idea please can you post here ? Bye, Skull. joey45 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Put a deadzone on the stick ingame and in sim [but not at the same time] and see if anything happens? The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. marluk Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) I think that this behavior is normal due to engine turbine rotation. When you start to roll on runway you need to correct rudder in order to keep moving straight. Suppose that similar thing is happening in the air too. Especially when aircraft is accelerating. This behavior is more pronounced on single prop engines, but it obviously exists on turbine engines too, although less pronounced. Skulleader Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Hello Marluk, This behavior is more pronounced on single prop engines, but it obviously exists on turbine engines too, although less pronounced. I know this phenomenon with the P-51D or other prop aircrafts but I did not know that the reactors of the A-10C could create this behavior IRL. When you start to roll on runway you need to correct rudder in order to keep moving straight. Suppose that similar thing is happening in the air too. Especially when aircraft is accelerating. Yes you have right I meet this behavior in this step like you. Guys I found your explanations very interesting for me, thanks for your assistance. Skull. txmtb Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 You might want to check your throttle calibration too, if one engine is not the same thrust as the other it will induce roll like this also. Hello, Yes I check my throttle calibration and my 2 engines are the same thrust. In flight when I meet my problem I watch all my engines gauges (RPM, etc) and all the gauges are the same RMP and thrust, visibly it's not the problem... Thanks again, Skull. Skulleader Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 Post a track with a new mission via the ME flying a T-Toad, Runway start. No weather/wind or other - just straight up default. Hello dear Viper, In first I would like to thank you for your assistance... #1: This morning I've uninstall all the drivers of my TM Warthog HOTAS and my Saitek Rudder and re-installed all these drivers and now everything seems OK (for the moment)... #2: There's few minutes I've register one track with my A-10C from "Runway Start" without a payload, no weapons, no pods, etc, no weater and no wind. #3: I start to roll on runway and I use my rudder to correct my path. At 50 IAS I cut off the nose wheel steering and during my flight I trim just in pitch, never in roll. PS: I'm sorry but I don't know the therms "ME flying" and "T-Toad", please can you explain to me ? Here I join you my Track created there's few minutes... https://www.dropbox.com/s/u3sqwd9v5yh0k9r/Test%20ROLL%20axis.trk A great thank in advance for you assistance, best regards. hitman Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 By any chance, did you calibrate your joystick in windows? If not, type "game controllers" in the start menu search bar, and select USB game controllers when it pops up. You can calibrate it from there.

Skulleader Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 ME = Mission Editor T-Toad = SU-25T Oops I'm very confused because the track that I join you is with the A-10C not the SU-25T but in few hours I record one other track but this time with the SU-25T. By any chance, did you calibrate your joystick in windows? If not, type "game controllers" in the start menu search bar, and select USB game controllers when it pops up. You can calibrate it from there. This morning I've uninstalled and re-installed the drivers of my HOTAS and my Rudder and after that I've calibrate my Hotas in windows 7 just in case like you explain to me... But now everything seems OK, Viper do you have seen my track that I've linked ? Of course it's not one track with the SU-25T but with the A-10C, oops sorry for my mistake. Thanks again, Skull.
