INFO:

Hey guys,

I created a trailer for this amazing simulator and composed a soundtrack for the trailer.

It's the first time I make a motion video. Hope you'll enjoy this unofficial DCS trailer.

2. The DCS MOVIE information!

4. REAL UFO FOOTAGE

I don't trust anything that bleeds for five days, and doesn't die

government: gives me money because of coronavirus

me: spends all money on the missing DCS modules

government: ... you dumbo! We won't give you money anymore

me: It's ok. I don't need anything else - I now have the entire DCS collection

my cat: looking at the empty bowl for a while and goes back to sleep

me: it's hard times, Mig, suck it up!

Both were good.. music better though. The trailer still feels very limited compared to what dcs offers. A lot more flyables with a whole range of mission types..a2a, a2g.

Not bad, but I have the same opinion of Witchking. I think the old GA LO Platinum promo or DCS: W Comercial can be a good example for guide:

Let me say it this way: it has quite some potential! :o)

If I showed everything this simulator has to offer it would be a minimum 15 minutes trailer, so I just wanted to concentrate on explosions and big guns because everyone loves explosions and big guns :)

Imo you wasted 1/3 of the play time for that guy hitting the ground. I was actually expecing some sort of "story" afterwards at least ... for example, how it came to that situation. How the guy was fighting ... and losing, or something like that.

Yes, we all love big guns and big explosions - but DCS is more/different. Speed, flying, low-level flying, technology, tactics, details, weapons, explosions - some keywords that come to my mind when thinking of DCS.

In a way, I liked the music. But, you already guessed it, there I have also an other "but": that "high voltage" synthesizer effects were too pronounced for my taste. Especially at the intro to the music ... a bit too much (too long, too loud). During the music I actually liked it - if it were just a tad bit less loud (too much in the foreground where the melodic stuff would belong, imo)

I noticed something when I was once playing some Glitch mob along with the intro/trailer for hitman sniper challenge. Just like a rythm/beat in the music...there is a beat in the video. The video should move at those "spots". If it does...it makes it seamless. If not, there is an innate feeling that something is not right.

As mentioned by some others here:

1) You spent over a min showing the guy hittng the ground...got pretty boring. You need to show excitement....a ramp up of some sort..aircraft on taxi/runway..or some action..good flight scenes....good camera angles.

2) 1:29...the eagle pilot ejecting..did not make sense...jet did not seem damaged or anything.

3) 1:33....the chase scene is fine...bbut too far away...u need to use CTRL++ key to zoom in to get a good view of jets in action.

4) 2:00 missed opportunity...good shot of flanker...just camera angle misses the action...can't see the whole plane well at all.

5) black shark part was pretty good...but repeated..too long. you could have 10-15 sec of shark shooting/a-10 shooting/JDAM/su25/Su25T/a-10 gun run.....

I remember GA's stuff back from when he started...his productions are at a different class now. Those take a while to make. But it wasn't like that at the beginning. They get better in time...so don't be disappointed and just keep playing with it. Timing + angles make a good movie. These are ones which producers like GA shoot for.

for example... one of his good ones...watch the timing of video/music :

one by locsta:

But there is another form....ones like back in the day..BCRLocsta used to make...Tales of the fallen pt1/2...if anyone remembers..LOMAC movies...those were based on a story line. A different rythm

AN example of a more story based movie by ED themselves... :

Hope that helps

Ah, man that's and oldie. I'd rather take "Edge" as a better example, where pretty much every single clip changes with the pace of the music.

On the topic of this thread, I have to agree with some others here, the intro does drag out a bit. When editing, sometimes think outside the box, so to speak - "what may be exciting to you, may not be exciting for others". May sound a little blunt, but somewhat true.

Have a goal with the video itself. This is especially true when making a trailer for something. Is it to excite people? Do you want to evoke emotions? Is it just for fun (which is always good :P )

Is it story based? Will the viewer understand the "message"? Etc.. :)

We all have to start somewhere, and you definitety have the foundation in place. Now just build upon that. :)

haha! true Cato. that is one of your best ones. I love the fact that it was one of your old "longer" movies. I remember u added the infantry part as a tease for me...as I kept bugging ED to add infantry for a while...

nowadays u are going the more...short but sweet route. :p

I plan to one day make a movie myself...a remake of an old lomac trailer. :p but one of those... someday... :p can never get around to doing it. :smilewink:
