Zakatak Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) IndieGoGo fundraiser for DCS: AC-130 Spooky II I haven't seen anything about it on the forums here or on SimHQ, and the current 5$ tells me that news of it isn't getting around at all. I only found it recently on Hoggit (DCS subreddit) just now. It's open until July 29th and a dozen days have already elapsed. IndieGogo doesn't give money back if the project doesn't survive, so I'm a little hesitant to support it given that the author seemingly hasn't made an effort to get the word around. I think we should get in contact with the guy to make sure this isn't going to fall through before we begin donating. Some proof of his work on BF4 and FSX, some contact information, and a list of team members would be appreciated as well. The page mentions that DCS doesn't support multiseat, which is disproven by the Mi-8MT and UH-1H modules. I don't have a lot of faith in this project currently and I find this Kickstarter quite sketchy, but I wouldn't mind seeing it happen if this was legitimate. Let's find proof of that first. sobek Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) Just FYI, this fundraiser is currently under investigation by IGG and the developer is not currently authorized by ED to distribute a paid mod for DCS. We don't want to bring out the pitchforks, but there are some big questionmarks regarding this project. Edited May 11, 2014 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Tone71 Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Lack of details and only one blurry picture of a low poly model, doesn't inspire confidence. Didn't realise IndieGogo don't refund money on failed projects either; might give this one a miss. Edit: And what sobek said :) Windows 10 Home, Intel Core i7-9700K @ 4.6GHz, Gigabyte GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (8GB VRAM) on 34" LG curved monitor @ 3440x1440, 32GB RAM, TrackIR 3 (with Vector Expansion), Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS, Saitek Combat Pedals, Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs.
