I really hope so, because then it would make an interesting opponent for the MiG-21Bis.

I hope so as well. If we're stuck with guns only, the F86 is going to be so underpowered :'(

Suggest you get the Center Control Panel a Closer Look.

Skate, are you referring to the panel under the dash with a knob that reads "Missile"?

If it is true that the word ``missiles´´ on the central pedestal, is a selector arms and cameras.

But the flight manual indicates that the procedure to launch an AIM-9B requires the use of the missile control panel I listed above, here the process of launching the AIM-9B on F-86F-25 and later airplanes.

The absence of this missile control panel motivates my question, I want launch an AIM-9B from the DCS F-86F-35 Sabre.

It was confirmed on the russian forums that this sabre will carry AIM9s. Can't remember which variant and I can't find my post with links to that bit anymore.

Chances are it would be the AIM-9B, at the time called the GAR-8. I don't know of any other variant of AIM-9 which the Sabre actually used to score kill with.

Just don't confuse with the GAU-8 :pilotfly:

Yes, AAM-N-7 Sidewinder IA GAR-8 = AIM-9B

Controversy: In the cockpit of the BST F-86 no missile control panel, is that the cockpit is still Beta and we will haven´t at first the AIM-9B?, or never fire the AIM-9B from this module?

But only slightly. I think there are less than a handful kills reported with that missile.

That missile was so bad, the Air Force bit their lip and modified their Aircraft to carry the AIM-9Bs.

They would have been Better off with the German X4 radio guided rocket than the AIM4 falcon

Most certainly not. Say what you want about the AIM-4, it was significantly superior to the X4 in just about every parameter.
