In the recent trailer for the Fw 190 you could briefly spot a new effect for objects impacting the water surface, similar to a new effect that was introduced about a year ago or so. The explosion effects were still of the "vintage" style we have now. I interpret this as a sign that the effects were or are in the process of integration. Of course I don´t know what other steps are required in the process of integration, but it looks pretty advanced by now. Also, I wonder why Wags hasn´t really posted any official screenshots for EDGE lately. Let´s hope it is because they are preparing some kind of (media) update... :)

But we are only on 1.29 what about all the numbers in between? Are these going to be patches or are we going to jump straight from 1.29 to v2.0?

Here's a glance at how version numbers work in all software releases, as a guideline. there are differences in the ways developers do things, please don't jump on me guys i'm just trying to show a rough outline:

X.YY.ZZZ - build number 12345

X= Major version number

YY= updates to the major version

ZZZ= fixes and minor updates

some systems even consider odd and even numbers, for example 1.2.933 would be an unstable version because it ends in an odd number, 1.2.994 would be a stable version because it ends in an even number. (I'm not sure this is how ED does it!)

in our case:

1.2.8.27915

to

2.0

would indicate a large overhaul has taken place, which would be EDGE of course. I would anticipate

----

1.2.8.27915

to

1.2.9

would probably be the arrival of MIG21 and Hawk

-----

1.2.8.27915

to

1.3.0

would indicate something like shared cockpit is available, or perhaps a large fix to multiplayer, engine improvments or just a really big update.

-----

I do not work for ED nor do i know their update system, to re-iterate this is a rough guide seeing as you was asking about the numbers in-between.
