GreyBadger Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Morning All I'm not where I need to be and don't have my notes in front of me, so forgive the lack of specifics here but I thought I'd ask anyway just in case you know where I am right off the bat. (I can always come back with specifics later.) Following along with the startup tutorial, I get to the point where I am turning on the various radios and one of them (I want to say ADF... but don't quote me) turns on with a loud static effect as though it's shouting to be tuned to a specific channel. I've actually been turning it off to escape the noise, as at this point in my progress I don't need to talk to anybody anyway. The tutorial does not mention the loud static noise at all and given that it does mention what to do about the low rpm warning earlier in the procedure, I'm thinking I'm doing something wrong somewhere and shouldn't be hearing this. Any thoughts? Thanks guys Badger

HellToupee Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 it will be the ADF radio, if you are not using it you dont need it on also it has a volume knob labeled gain, you can also mute by turning off the nav switch on the signal dist panel.
