Refuel door wont open?

I have air to air refueled in the past, its been about 6 months though, I went to AA refuel today and found that when I tapped the nose wheel steering button, the gate would not open? I checked in the options menu that it does indeed emulate the key command "insert", even while in the game I hit the insert key but gate will not open. Auto pilot is off by the way. I must be forgetting something simple or there is a bug since the last few updates I am not aware of? Im not sure. Thanks for any help

That's because the nose steering wheel button resets the system it doesn't open the fuel door.

I don't know the key command but it does not have a HOTAS input. Simply click on it with your mouse.

 

If you're flying the A-10A, that has a key command (which I don't know) and this is the wrong section to ask about A models.

This is the C model, the command to open the gate is "insert" (verified via options menu) which is also the key command for engaging/disengaging nose wheel steering. And it is indeed mapped to my HOTAS via Foxy software. It has ALWAYS worked in the past, I just havnt inflight refueld in a while. I have changed nothing, but there have been at least 2 DCS updates since. I am not new to inflight refueling, just been awhile. I have a checklist for doing this that I dug back up just to recheck myself. I cant find that I am doing anything wrong. There is no apparent reason why even the key command for this function is not working? I am able to however engage/disengage nosewheel steering during takeoff and landing.

Sorry to tell you but that is incorrect. I don't know the key command to open the slipway door, but all I do click the lever. Insert resets the refueling system in case you disconnect by accident.

ya know,,, I think you nailed it! Maybe I was opening the door with the lever initially, then during connect/reconnects I was using the HOTAS button,,,, that makes sense to me,,,,, thank you all very much. It fires the laser when not doing refueling. It wouldn't make sense to open the refueling door every time you fire the laser...

You are very correct, of course that did not occur to me at the time when I was banging my head on the wall trying to figure out why it wasn't working the way I THOUGHT I was doing it before. Once KK0425 hit me up the side of my head with the right tool,, it it came to light,,,,, Not my 1st mistake,, sure wont be my last :}

Yup, Insert is Laser fire.

 

I dont think you wanna fire a Laser in the direction of the Tanker, ,lol

Laser fire, NWS on ground, and refuel gate reset if you get dced from da tanker ;)
