Just droping by to comment on something. The tracks show missile dodging on part on the F-15 at mach 0.6-0.7. At this speed the eagle bleeds alot of speed. I did it at mach 0.8-0.9. Flew 3 times and ended up using Sidwinders and guns. ALL sparrows missed their mark, but did the job of puting the mig on defensive.

This is a reproduceable problem..

Turn off STT use flood mode and you'll hit your target more often.

Same with the 120... tws - forget it.. sst - it's a crap shoot.

turn off radar and fire visual and your ratio improves alot.

(this really started to be noticable with the 112/112a patch)

I fired 8-10 miles, in SST. The reason why I dont use flood much is because I need to minimize exposure to further shots by puting the target off boresight, wich denies the flood mode. Also because while dodging missiles you cant afford to fly straight at your target.

Using STT 3 out of 4 AIM 7's hit the target in the track I made. I cant see any problem in there ?

 

The whole point of the mission is to destroy all three targets eficiently.

Why are you using SST and AIM-7s??? Are you flying a 1970s Eagle? Or is it that TWS and 120s are soooooo broken that you've given up with them?

 

Personally, I find 1.12s TWS getting soo frustrating ... despite all the attempts at manual elevation tracking, the thing just breaks lock and the 120s miss by miles ...

AIM7's do not work with TWS. This is not an AIM120 mission for no other reason than for a challenge.

both mine and Ice's replay's play fine on my PC, others have reported no issues either, strange.

 

 

Hmmm I think I might have borked the game... o_O I reinstalled it from scratch, this time I didnt install any MOD's, such as realism weapon MOD and left the slider at default. Totatly forgot someone mentioned that the files are different in 1.12. I robocop'ed myself on the previous install by doing my usual MOD's to the game and forgot all about this.

 

Indeed from time to time I would get smokeless Heat seekers... o_O Didnt think of it untill now.

 

Anyway the tracks are now playing fine.

 

BTW, how come the tracks do not retain all the original events instead of relying on scripted weapon behaviour? Its so odd...

Sounds like the weapons mod you are using may well affect the missile characteristics of the what you fire and what is fired at you.

 

I'd be very wary of installing it again.

It was Shepki's weapon MOD. It contains 1.1 MEini.xml. Dunno what it could possibly change the MIG's R-27R's and R-77's though, arent they coded in the EXE?
