And the reason is?????

The reason for preview builds?

Something along the lines of:

We really don't want Leatherneck to go bankrupt because only a small sub-set of simmers/gamers know of the DCS: MiG-21bis.

For me, all the screenshots show that there is progress, how detailed the model is and how much worth it is for me buying it.

I definitely like it that they gave out promo copy to let verified members of the flightsim community proof the quality.

Not everyone is a backer. On this module it shows I wish I were able to support the work ahead of the release to ensure a release. I'm glad to see that development is coming to an end and release is close. Can't wait to take seatr in the virtual cockpit in Leatherneck's MiG-21 :)

Ok... maybe. But lets speculate a bit moore. The promos are full of bugs. All who are flying promos are excited about the mig (they dont care about bugs) so i think that words like is is not done yet is only a excuse.

What's the reason of TV ads?

To make the audience angry and annoy them!!!11 Hrm ... at least that is the usual effect on me personally ...

(oops, now I supported koss19's point ...!? :o)

Do you think that the best way to dont get bankcrupt is to make backers angry???

I'm a backer and I'm not angry. I'm not too eager to beta test stuff myself, if you are interested in that you should first consider changing attitude and being more constructive, maybe offer something to the community. Then maybe someone would consider giving you a promotional copy.

Please speak for yourself, not all of us are angry, eager to get our hands on the module yes, and it will be ready when it is ready.

What LN are doing is just the same as other software companies do, preview/promotional copies out to those whom they feel will get the message out to a wider audience, and more power to them for doing so as I hope LN will be around for a long time to make other modules of at least as high a quality as the Mig 21 looks to be.

An excuse for what? Do you suggest, the product actually has no bugs as nobody mentioned them, yet, and that therefore LN should have released it already?

Maybe, just maybe nobody of the reviewers mentioned all the bugs ... because they were informed that they could appear and that possible bugs are not indicative for the overall quality of the product? And that therefore nobody really cares to write about them?

Oh yes now its like im alone angry about it...maybe im not but all others ate baned already. Thats how it gets on this forums.

Angry? Angry about promo copies that are sent to people? Or angry that you did not get a promo copy?

Yes, some people are unhappy that the release of the MiG seems to take forever. But dude, we are talking about friggin promo copies ...

And i speak about that inly people who deserve theyr promo copis are the backers and no one else.

I think what backers deserve- is a polished, good product that won't crash their sim or have a broken mirror.

For me is it like a bad dream to watch on screenshots witch says... hey look what are u payed for and cant play with.

Wow, you're parents must have had a hard time calming you down before Christmas...

But seriously, it's almost here, we have --at most-- a couple more weeks to go. OT: The first impressions look amazing, I'm astounded by the level of detail (e.g., the 3D model and skins, the flashlight, variable weapon control panels) and can't wait to get my hands on this sim. Looking forward to a very steep learning curve =) Great to see this long anticipated bird finally being released soon =)

And therefor you tortune them like this????

You have proof that those are not backers?

Anyhow - why would only backers are allowed to promote the product? What is the reasoning behind that? I always thought, promoting is best done by people who can reach a wide audience and therefore that is the relevant criteria. Not that someone wired 20 bucks via PayPal in the past ...

Ok, I got it now. You are bored and just trolling hard, eh?

(and if you are serious: a simple remedy for your pain: don't ****ing look at the promo reviews then)

The whole point of allowing "quick-n-dirty" impressions and screenshots was for everyone to enjoy while waiting the last few weeks.

The overwhelming requests for screenshots, videos, fidelity details are now becoming available at a much increased pace. I had hoped you would appreciate that.

Agree to disagree, I am sorry you feel the way you do, but we've heard you.

It's not long now.

On topic: I've been informed that the first YT look at the MiG-21 will be released later today.

Stay Tuned. :)

Because when it was only a idea to make the mig21 the backers geve toghether a lot of money to start the development. Because witout them you would be fliing only fc3 level fighters.

Read the FAQ of Kickstarter or Indiegogo! A Backer give money! LN don`t have the money, so let them keep their plan/roadmap. And we ALL will be happy at the end.

I can't believe I'm going to waste my time typing this out a third time - but a few of us got copies because we write for print magazines or online journals. I think it is exciting for most (but not all) to see that this project is very close to the finish line. Well, perhaps not the finish line, but the release line, because we all know that no module is ever truly finished. Why is it not in your hands yet? Because it isn't quite finished. There are some placeholder items in some of the briefings, a couple typos here and there, and a few little things that need some tweaking which are being done by the developers over the course of the past two weeks. The sales techniques and purchasing infrastructure are being set up, etc..etc..

Your speculation about the promo being full of bugs is complete hogwash. SimHQ's EinsteinEP and I flew a two hour multiplayer session a couple nights ago and about all we could do was rave about the quality of the textures, the sounds, and we were giggling like school children as we explored our cockpits. He was flying the Russian cockpit version, so he was frequently guiding me onto buttons or switches to ask me what they said in English. It was a lot of fun.

The overwhelming majority of backers and people who haven't yet decided to purchase seem to enjoy the glimpses into the quality and thoroughness of the MiG-21 project. I'll grant you that people that have backed this program have waited a long time for it, and I understand that you guys have been infinitely patient, but you will find that the end result is incredible.

As for critical comments - as a magazine reviewer we rarely make critical comments about beta software (unless it is something really fundamentally wrong), but once the software is "final", we give a complete assessment of the product, warts and all. Suffice it to say though, that you can get a general feel for the quality based on a combination of screenshots and comments. Do I like the MiG-21?

No.

I love it!

Maybe you should read the description on the Indiegogo site again....

From indiegogo.com:

The Project in good state if you can check the project webpage above but I'm a one man team so all of these things made only by me without any supporter. This cause to I need some additional fund to finalize the project. I need a fund to pay the DRM protection, video and sound producing also need to pay a better texture artist than me to improve the airplane presence and outer and inner textures as well.
