Vinny002 Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Hi, guys! When I hit the LCTRL/LSHFT to close/open the airbrake, the airbrake won't move. Any ideas? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
RagnarDa Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Isn't the keycommand B ? DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Stonehouse Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 Is your engine up and running? I think you have no real hydraulic pressure until it's fully up and running ie 34%rpm and throttle usable
Vinny002 Posted August 19, 2014 Author Posted August 19, 2014 Hi, stonehouse! Yes, the engine is running, but I don't where the 34% RPM is on the engine RPM gauge, and the hydraulic pressure is around 3,000 PSI on the hydraulic pressure gauge. Cheers, Vincent
Frogpaw Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 You have to press and hold those keys (LCTRL/LSHFT B) to fully open/close the airbrake. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of this behavior ;)
VIMANAMAN Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 ...I have to admit that I'm not a fan of this behavior ;) I know what you mean... (and a bit off thread), but they cycle really quickly and you can partially deploy them this way. The radiators in the props planes use the same 'analogue' approach, and they take up to 30 seconds to fully cycle. ...but still better this way I reckon, gives more control... just set them to your HOTAS if you can.
311Gryphon Posted August 19, 2014 Posted August 19, 2014 You do have to be up to 34% or so throttle to power the hydro system. The gauge isn't that clear but the little needle that starts moving when you first power up (the one that you let go to 3% before putting the throttle to outboard and 6% before moving to idle) will be the one you watch. You may have to zoom in to see it but when in doubt just take it up to 40% or so. The big needle won't move until the little needle gets up to something like 50%. I can see how the speed brakes can be a bit frustrating but I think they are modeled fairly well from what I read. It takes power to run hydraulic pumps. I guess my point is that I want it modeled correctly even if it kind of stinks, and I think mapping keys and buttons is the way to go on these sims when trying to make them easier to learn and easier to fly. Another note is that some of the planes other systems won't power up until you get to something like 43% power. The generator won't kick in until that point. If you bump up between 45 and 50% you should have hydro and generator power. Dirty Rotten Flieger Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Also the air breaks are actuated with utility hydraulic system not the main system. You can switch the indicator gauge between main, alternate and utility hydraulics to check the pressure. The pressure will dip lower and then return to full pressure when you move the control surfaces for the main and alternate. The air breaks will dip the pressure in the utility . The details are great. When you land you can even turn off the engine and then bleed the hydraulic pressure off the three systems as was done in real life...
