Vinny002 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) Hi, guys! here is the track about the P-51D engine won't start. Please see attached. Thanks! Cheers, VincentP-51D engine won't start.trk Edited August 31, 2014 by Vinny002
Paganus Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 In the track it appears no attempt to do anything related to startup happens, at least to me. What did you try? Did you use a checklist?
Vinny002 Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Hi, paganus! What happened is the P-51D engine won't start on the 3rd or maybe 4th time. Yes, I did follow the checklist. This is a serious bug. Thanks! Cheers, Vincent 1
Blaze Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Startup works first time every time, super easy aircraft to start. And track must be broken, nothing at all happens in it. i7 7700K | 32GB RAM | GTX 1080Ti | Rift CV1 | TM Warthog | Win 10 "There will always be people with a false sense of entitlement. Vinny002 Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Hi, guys! This is strange. Does anybody else have the same problem I'm having where the P-51D engine won't start after the 2nd or 3rd time? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent 1
Vedexent Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 You can overheat the starter. If you try and try and try starting, eventually it wouldn't respond anymore - at least that's happened to me. I find that if I'm having problems starting the engine, it's probably a case of me priming too much, or having the throttle open too much, and flooding the engine.
Art-J Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 It takes a while to overheat the starter (about 40-45 secs of continuous operation last time I checked), so you can abuse it for a while - I had a mission on friday when the engine caught up after 7th attempt :D. However, as mentioned above, incorrect priming or throttle position is most likely a source of a problem. BTW, make sure you run the latest version of the game so we can watch tracks recorded by you. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Vinny002 Posted September 1, 2014 Author Posted September 1, 2014 Hi, Art-J I don't know if I have P-51D version 1.2.10 or not. How do check it out? I was using the create fast mission but in create fast mission, the P-51D engine starts 2 or maybe 3 times, the engine won't start anymore after that. I tried the training missions, it seems like the P-51D engine starts every time now! I started the engine about 6 times still no problems yet! Very strange! Thanks! Cheers, Vincent
Shaman Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) I just tried auto-start sequence (winkey+home?), sequenced checklist was performed but engine didn't start. If this is the case, lots of newbs are in trouble. And respawn. Manually it worked well at first try. Art-J Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Vinny - I was generally referring to the version of DCS World, displayed in a lower right corner of the main game screen. If yours was updated to ver. 1.2.10.30996 correctly, including all files related to P-51 module, we should be able to watch your recorded offline tracks easily. In theory at least. Shamandgg - there was a recent thread somewhere here about the auto-start sequence problems and it turns out that there's (most probably) something wrong with the sequence script, making auto start in current version of the P-51 not always possible. Well, every patch fixes something and breaks something, gotta learn to live with it :D. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
WinterH Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 If you are using auto-start sequence (which is RWin + Home by default), yes, it doesn't work. Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
SilentGun Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I know this is a silly question but does it have fuel? there have been many times Ive tried to start it without fuel Link to my Imgur screenshots and motto http://imgur.com/a/Gt7dF One day in DCS... Zabuzard Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 In the official manual located in your DCS/Mod/P51D/Docs folder (or sth. similiar). You can also see this and the tutorial series:
