MrGreezy Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Not sure if this has been said already, but right now, any target I shoot at gets lost behind a cloud of smoke erupting from my nose guns as I fire. Obviously you want something, but right now the effect is far too much. I don't suppose the devs have acknowledged this?

MrGreezy Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 What does that mean? What, how, who?
Sabre-TLA Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 EDGE is a planned updated graphics engine to be released later this year (hopefully). Here is a video: MapleFlagMissions - Read Our Blog for Updates
Krupi Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 You see what the smoke looks like in Rift, you can't see anything compared to what it looks like on a monitor... Art-J Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Be happy that we don't have gun smoke like pre-v.1.2.9 Mustang. If that was the case, you would be able to see neither the target nor rest of the world outside :D. I wouldn't count on all new effects in EDGE right away after release. WIP movies of Combined Arms suggest most of the old effects will stay with us for a while. I'm sure they'll be improved later, though. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
Aurora juutilainen Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 any word about this? (temporary fixes or upcoming patches), the engine cowling MG's smoke is pretty silly/blinding

Aurora juutilainen Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I'm pretty sure Mustang's environmental shaders mod includes a fix for this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113374 Thanks, I was running an older version of this, with the latest version it seems to reduce the smoke a little but it's definitely still a problem, but any improvement is helpful. Hopefully an official fix is planned
Art-J Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Looks like global smoke effects adjustments in 1.2.12 have side effects on gun smoke as well. The dreaded "snowman puffs" are back again, although not in as ridiculous form as they were in 1.2.8. Clearly planes with guns in the nose (Dora, Sabre, now 109) are affected the most. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
