One of the most frustrating things is which antivirus prog to buy. Searching the web doesn't help, because I just don't believe some of the ratings. I have bidefender, & I liked for a few years. With the occasional clashes it has with DCS world etc., I'm shopping for something else. I'm leaning towards Kaspersky. Any opinions welcomed.

Thanks,

I use Kaspersky and have been reasonably happy with it. Conflicts are minimal and it is fairly controllable.

I have used many other and this one seems to annoy me the least.

I used Microsoft Security Essentials for several years with no virus issues at all. When I upgrade to Windows 7 a couple of years ago and then Windows 8 I started using the built in Windows Defender and firewall as the replacement for MSE. I've had probably about 100 notifications that viruses where caught and being cleaned while using the Microsoft products but have had no adverse issues requiring any action on my part.

I'm happy with Comodo Internet Security. I love to run suspecius softwares in its Sandbox feature, also I love Virtual Desktop for internet banking or shoping etc.

This. There's no point in using anything else (though antimalware bytes l in addition is a good idea), there's little difference between the products and the windows one is one of the lightest and in theory works best with windows.

IF you know what you are doing MSE offers more than enough protection and so far it is the least demanding AV around.

On my sim computer I don't use AV. On everything else I just use windows defender and common sense.
