Lange_666 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Replaced my Track IR 1 with Track IR 4. Didn't work in Lock-On until i removed the TrackIR.ini file from the Input directory. After that, TrackIR worked fine... until today. I entered Hyperlobby, selected a server and ... no TrackIR anymore. Went out, tested it outside Lock-On, worked fine. Re-entered Lock-On again, still no TrackIR. Then i remembered that i had to remove that ini file but then, all to my surprise, on the loading of the game StarForce popped up telling me i had to re-activate my account????? What's that good for? Has this to do with the removing of the ini file? I did read that there should be another file removed, if so, can someone pls tell me which one? Anyone else had this Starforce issue? I can believe Starforce does see new hardware when changing from a 1 to a 4 and therefore ask for a re-activation but i had my TrackIR4 working with Lock-On before without it asking for a re-activation. bflagg Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Goto star-force.com and post this in their tech support forum... This has been reported before..... Thanks, Brett
SUBS17 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Thats funny, I bought a trakir and didn't delete any files and it still works in 1.12a. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
bflagg Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I've had to kill both the ini for the saitek and trackir before hand.. (if I even plugged the saitek in the wrong USB port I will have to kill the current ini for lockon to recognize it...) but I never got the activation code message because I have the CD... Thanks, Brett
504 Wolverine Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I have had to delete the TIR4 file twice as well but Starforce has never asked to be reactivated. Perhaps something else was wrong (i.e Starforce hates the X-45 Aux buttons when they are left on) 1 [/url]
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I had to delete TIR3 ini file once, however, StarForce never popped up. 169th_Crusty Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Thats funny, I bought a trakir and didn't delete any files and it still works in 1.12a. Yep, it is funny. Or maybe it`s not. When I installed 1.12a on my "original" FC installation, my TIR worked fine without deleting any files. Then, after disabling some ports in BIOS, I needed to reactivate starforce. (Enabling these ports again or using backup reg. didn`t help!) I backed my reg. key then wiped everything out (wrote "zeros" to my hard drive before formating and reinstalling OS) and used my backed up reg. key to activate 1.12a - worked! But, the TIR didn`t. After deleting these 2 files problem was solved. Oh, little OT stuff: When I tried to install my WinXP, my new DVD drive would not come up to speed and I was getting errors. Hell, it was Sony! :( Something must`ve crapped out. So I used my HP drive from my other rig and it was flying! But, that`s way OT!
SUBS17 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Since mines working ok, I ain't going to mess with it but I am curious as to why some people have to delete those files. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
