I dont think so. Lockon doesnt take enough advantage of the newer optimizations. I think that computer will do well, but not as you will see from other games.

What Lock On needs is a 10GHz processor hehe.

*** Edit, not only that, but they put an Intel in it...... I know they have contracts...

wasn't a similar thread with that same comp posted a while ago? I think it got locked because it was bashing on dell. Anyway, No computer can smoke LOMAC (as of now). Like Prophet said, you DO need a 10GHz processor

I dont know why people bash Dell. I personally wouldnt buy one, just because I can build my own. But I have a work laptop by Dell, and they have good service, at least to us.

And that is one mean computer. When some of the newer sims come out, it will be the shiznit. But then, we will have better. If you're into other games, and you had the spare cash, then yeah its would rock. But if your intent is mainly Lock On, its a waste of cash.

Well, four video cards in SLI would not do any god for me because my monitor max resolution is 1600X1200 and one (good) NVIDIA card can handle that just fine.

The problem is with CPU.

Comes with dual 7900 GTX 1024mb video cards in SLI mode, 750 gig hard drives of storage, and all the goodies on a processor that sports over 4 ghz....lookin at evil-scots...

I am afraid that you need the OC’d fx-60 to beat the world record!

No PC will be enough for LockOn. This game will always lag out when things start to happen.

It's like the search for the holy grail. There's no.

Though keep searching :)

I can try smoking lomac with my home made bong....

Nah, I'll stick to weed. (my bong is uber-efficient, after 3 hits, yes, that is 3 hits, I had trouble standing :p)

I think we'll be able to play lomac on mediocre pcs in 2107, with triple core 6ghz CPUs.

Heh heh, gives my twisted vision of the cpu manufacturers.

i think lomac isnt coded that cood to take advantage of _any_ new processor coming the next few years...

Not sure exactly where the problem lays, but it does seem LOMAC demands more than it should, but what other sim is there to compare to? In FPS games, its easy to say a game runs better than another.

But it is a good reason to invest as little as possible into the code. If Ubi was calling the cards, we probably would have never got past 1.1.

I bet an FX-57 overclocked and water-cooled and all that would handle LOMAC well.

Lockon has high detail graphics, but I don't understand why a sim that has such high graphics detail use so little of the graphics processor. It would be interesting to know how they render the terrain, how they use clipping planes, and how much of the 3d rotations and transformations get passed off to the graphics processor.

On a humourous note, Eagle Dynamics should start investing in stocks/shares in hardware companies (AMD, ATI, Nvidia, etc.) because ED's software forces alot of their clients to buy new hardware. :)
