BachoGrande Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Using the official 1.2.10 patch -- had the same problem in all official releases & betas since MiG-21 was available --- I've noticed this odd bug in particular hangars at Senaki-Kolhki. Specific hangars such as #14 & #18 shake the cockpit (and tube) of the MiG-21Bis like mad. I put an SU-27 in #14 as well just for the hell of it and it didn't shake. I am just going to guess that the front tube is moving around so much, THAT is what is making the view of the cockpit shake? Here's the video I recorded to demonstrate the issue. Art-J Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) Already discussed a couple of weeks ago, although nobody seems to know what the source of the problem is, or solution for that matter. I find it puzzling: a) why it happens in some hangars in some bases and not in the others; b) why different computers seem to be affected in different way - on my config, in cockpit view, I've only seen "wiggling" pitots, but never experienced "earthquake" like Yours ;). It's cool You've narrowed it down to specific hangar numbers at Senaki. Tomorrow I'm going to put my MiG in these and see what happens. P.S. - did you have any wind set up during this mission? That /is/ odd that it varies between computers. If I'm bored later today I'll just throw a MiG at every hangar and jump in each one and note the shakey ones :D. Wind was 3 m/s at 100m, then 5 m/s at 2000m and 9 m/s at 8000m.
BachoGrande Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 (edited) I think it is the wind. At 0 m/s wind, I get no shakes. I loaded up a mission with all the ramp start spots at Senaki-Kolkhi filled with MiG-21Bis'. With the minimum amount of wind, 1 m/s wind (all altitudes), and also with 3, 5 & 9 m/s (respective heights from low to high) I had shaking in the following hangars: 9 10 11 12 13 14 18 20 21 25 26 30 32 34 39 40 42 43 44 48 49 50 52 53 55 60 61 I don't know if the wind direction is determining which hangars AREN'T shaking; that will require a bit more testing. mpdugas Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) Ah shoot, I thought I looked through the entire forum. I'm sorry :(. Cheers to Lange_666 for the tip! Every board does their embeds diff :( When you place the MiG-21 in that hangar, it is much further back in the body of the structure than the SU-27, probably because the Sukhoi is a much larger aircraft. I noticed that the MiG-21 shaking stops (as seen in your film) just as it rolls to the forward part of the hangar, but not yet outside. Basically, it stops the shaking when it hits the same location that the SU-27 is originally parked in when you open the hangar doors on the Sue. The MiG does not have to be outside the hangar to stop shaking, just a bit forward from where the game plants it with the mission editor. Edited October 11, 2014 by mpdugas
kontiuka Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Thought it might be a PFM issue (Flanker is still SFM) so I tried this with the P-51D. Same airport, same hanger, 5 m/s wind. No shaking at all.
