Can't wait until the Goblin whistles in my ear :D

The Vampire was powered by a de Havilland Goblin engine with 3500lbs of thrust twice the power of our Viper engined Jet Provosts. The Goblin engines centrifugal compressor produced a wonderful wailing noise that, when I hear it today, takes me back in time just as much as Bill Haley's 'Rock Around The Clock' does. I could never understand why the Goblin wailed so distinctively when the very similar centrifugal compressors of the Rolls Royce Derwents and Nenes made just a smooth whistling sound.

Can't wait either! When will we have Christmas with the Goblin Angels SINGING?

How did I miss this, can't wait for the Vamp. .

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.
