I have been watching KOMODOSIMS and their progress with their controllers for some time and am simply waiting for the Black Shark controllers to be completed and will be purchasing.. I have zero personal experience with them, but have read multiple reviews that all state that they are excellent quality and make a huge difference in the experience and immersion...

Google some reviews and you will see what I mean...

Yeah that is all I have for you at this point.. (Wish I DID have some personal experience as it would mean I had one at home!)

Have a good one!

I have the Komodo cyclic. Purchased a few years back and since had it upgraded to the version with the pro cyclic base. It is a very nice bit of kit. I have it paired with pedals and collective from c-tek. There is a marked difference in quality. I hope to add the Komodo pedals and collective at a later date when funds allow.

Very smooth dampened movement and extremely precise control. 12bit and Hall effect so no pots to wear out. I'd never go back to flying helicopters with a 'joystick' again.

Rich from Komodo Sim is an absolute gent. Great support and communication which is a bonus. Thèy are expensive units but they are very high quality so if your passion is helicopters then they are well worth it.

Fergus

Edit: I should add the controls need to be mounted. The cyclic isn't something you can put on the floor and use with a swivel chair. Although if you're going this far your likely going to be building some form of sim pit. I have a short rift video I did which kind of shows the unit

I plan to purchase the komodosim controls in the future. I have researched every corner of the internet at length and the build of these controls undeniably come out ahead in just about every aspect. Latest and greatest materials and new options are constantly coming. Rich has been around a while, is always available and he is very enthusiastic about his work.

It appears he runs the fabrication locally and ships the products himself as well, although I cannot confirm that. I'm sure he will show up in this thread sooner or later.

Hi Guys,

Didn't want to jump in too early on this thread, I'm biased anyway!

Yes I do all the fabrication from a workshop here at home and ship world wide from here as well.

Please feel free to ask any questions about anything on my controls, I'm always as honest and upfront as I can be. At the end of the day you are spending a lot of money on these things and I want you to be happy with what you are buying.

Development work is a little slow at the moment as I'm really busy making orders. Booked up until March at the moment. However work has started on the KA-50 Cyclic and tweaks and being made to the collective for both the Huey and KA-50. I hope to have all available for order early in the new year.

I will post some pics as soon as I have anything decent to show.

Many thanks for all the kind words, its taken a while to get here and I'm really happy with the controls and how they are developing.

Already got my order in for Huey Cyclic/Collective.

Communication with this "company" has been exceptional.

BTW Rich, get off the forum and work on my controllers!!!!

Rich,

What's the difference between standard range and and multi-grip range? And the Huey collective/cyclic is still in development, is that right?

Thank you

Hi Chic - I'm on it don't worry!!

Hi Hansang,

The Multi-Grip range allows you to interchange grips for the Cyclic Range and the Collective Range. So you buy a base unit for the Cyclic, you then buy a shaft for say a B206. At a later date you can buy a Shaft of the Huey and simply un-screw the 206 shaft and attach the Huey one without having to buy a complete new Cyclic. The idea is the same as the Warthog, the only difference being I have more than one control in the range.

The Huey Cyclic is available to buy now and the Collective should be ready in the new year.

Hi Hansang,

I'm about 1.5hrs from London and not reachable by tube I'm afraid. I haven't got a demo either at the moment. But I should be at the Flight Sim Convention at the International Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare in May next year.

gotcha, thank you Rich. I'm headed over in a few weeks so I thought I'd check it out. I've subscribed to this thread, so when the collective is ready, please do let me know.

Hi,

I already do an AS350 Cyclic and Collective, as well as an EC135 Cyclic with the collective almost ready. Check the website or the Facebook page, or email me direct!

Rich

Apologies Rich, I left out a few key words there! I meant to ask about the Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter controls.

They look fairly similar to the EC135/AS350 but have a bigger head with more buttons on each.

once you go long shaft cyclic and collective.. YOU NEVER WANT TO GO BACK

That is what SHE SAID!

HaH!

(You know you were thinking it too, so don't give me a bad time over it...)

Shouldn't be too difficult to do. Is there a model for a sim to fly it with?

BR

Rich

I could be wrong, but I thought I saw one of the 3rd party dev's were working on it. (And there is already a module for the other big flight simulator).

But the amount of buttons on this, it would be great for any sim, rotary or fixed wing.

once you go long shaft cyclic and collective.. YOU NEVER WANT TO GO BACK

There is no way I'd be going from a crazy good proper cyclic flying the shark or huey, and then going back to a saitek for the A-10C lol. And that's my point, if I was going to invest in a set up like this, it would have to take care of everything I want to fly. Because I couldn't afford buying a new cyclic and/or collective every year when a new aircraft module comes out. (I understand that the cost is warrented because of the quality, and its hand made and beautiful, but never the less its still a big investment for the average Joe).

My thinking is, to buy one that might not be realistic to every aircraft, but it will last me for life, no matter what I end up flying.

Not to mention in multiplayer, I tend to fly whatever might be available, and even though it looks like its only seconds between changing a shaft, it's not really practicle once you are in the game and sat down to be swapping stuff around. And each shaft would have different bindings etc.

PS the AS350 looks good, but not quite enough buttons, for the A-10C, but with the other modern aircraft 6-12 months away, you wanna be ready.

TBH I'd even be happy with a fictional cyclic/collective, as long as it has 12+ buttons and 6+ hats (with one being 2 axis analogue for target designator).

In summary, I want everything for nothing, and I want it now :P

Hmm, I wonder if they can create an adapter to mount the Warthog. That'll take care of most of my needs. I'd use the collective/Cyclic for the Huey, then use the Warthog joystick for A10.

I meant to say, I'm talking about physically mounting it. Not having it interoperable with TARGET.
