Hey there!

 

Would it be possible to mod NV to FC3 AC, specifically the F-15? I have looked around but I have not found anything.

 

Since the function itself seems "fairly simple" from a non-coders ignorant point of view, I wondered if you guys could enlighten me:)

Found this looking around on google:

 

"Through an on-going multistage improvement program the F-15 is receiving extensive upgrade involving the installation or modification of new and existing avionics equipment to enhance the tactical capabilities of the F-15. The latest upgrades include night vision goggles and the joint helmet mounted cueing system. Night Vision Goggles enable a pilot to operate visually in a blacked out environment at night, while the JHMCS projects aircraft and targeting data directly on to the pilot’s helmet."

I'd love to see the JHMCS (with the AIM-9x) that's mentioned added as well.

NVGs are only possible in the A-10A, Su-25A and Su-25T cause ED initially programmed these aircraft to actually have this capability but for some reason hid this function prior to FC3 going public, the fighters can not do this (hard coded, but i'd like to be proven wrong!)

So to those three aircraft you mention how do we enable the nigh vision? I also use the realistic nvg mod so this would be epic! Realistically these aircraft would use nvg and even f15

I7 4770k @ 4.6, sli 980 evga oc edition, ssdx2, Sony 55 inch edid hack nvidia 3dvision. Volair sim pit, DK2 Oculus Rift.

It could be possible... you just need to "install" the module into that plane then make it initiate somehow then it has to have controlls assigned to it:

It is possible that F15C not use this technique

Funny you should mention this. My mind has strayed in that direction recently as a result of work on UltraMFCD. For starters (and since it's my main aircraft), I know at the very least an HMCS has been tested with the aircraft, and may be in use on the "F" revision/upgrade/tranche/block/whatevertheycallitthesedays.

UltraMFCD 3.0 in the works.

It is so weird that this is not doable. The nvg's seems to be a simple "filter" activated with a key binding. All the code is already there. Hardcode is hardcode I guess, but why?

 

Anyway- let's hope ED might adjust this some day.

If any one lands here from Google , like I did.

 

you just need to add these lines to the FC3 keyboard files:

Make sure Notepad++ runs in Administrator mode, or you cannot save the file.

and in:

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Input\a-10a\joystick\default.lua

if you want to map it to the joystick as well
