con3para Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 As the title says where do skins go , as i cant see a folder , i use JSGME for my mods . thanks HAF TOWER / MSI z77 G43 /-i5-3570k.@ 3.4mhz / GTX 780 / Patriot 8GB. DDR3 / TM-HOTAS-warthog 00228
NeilWillis Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 There is a new location you can place all your skins. Just create folders following the structure here: C:/Users/name/Saved Games/DCS World/Liveries/MiG-21Bis You can create a folder for each of the modules you have, but just make sure the name convention follows the one in the Bazar/Liveries folder, and either one will work.
con3para Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks for the reply , so if I put all my skins here , does it get deleted with every update , user saved games folder , or with it stay in tact HAF TOWER / MSI z77 G43 /-i5-3570k.@ 3.4mhz / GTX 780 / Patriot 8GB. DDR3 / TM-HOTAS-warthog 00228
Art-J Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I guess they shouldn't get deleted, but If You're worried about such scenario (or about anything bad happening to C: partition while DCS is installed in other one), you can always create folder for skins the "old way", in DCS World/Bazar/Liveries location. This option works as well. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
NeilWillis Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 The whole point of using the saved games folder is that it is unaffected by upgrades. Although, I have always found that even with them in the main folder directory, they remain in place, although of course upgrades may affect them in either location as far as the MiG-21 is concerned because they are currently updating the external model I believe. I personally keep missions separated from the main directory too.
con3para Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 Well i tried the C:/Users/name/Saved Games/DCS World/Liveries/MiG-21Bis. method and that didn't work for me , but the normal way did . DCS World/Bazar/Liveries/MiG-21Bis , through JSGME thanks for your reply's i have the bunny skin working . HAF TOWER / MSI z77 G43 /-i5-3570k.@ 3.4mhz / GTX 780 / Patriot 8GB. NeilWillis Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 You did change "name" to your own installation's naming I presume?

You can place them here too: x:\xxx\CoreMods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Liveries\MiG-21Bis It can work, but some MP servers check the CoreMods folder (default check path), so put the skin in that folder may meet trouble in MP. Another way is to put it under x:\xxx\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Liveries\MiG-21Bis, if MP server doesnot check this folder x:\xxx\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My DCS Mods, Skins, Utilities and Scripts | Windows 10 | i7-4790K | GTX 980Ti Hybrid | 32GB RAM | 3TB SSD | | TM Warthog Stick | CH Pro Throttle + Pro Pedal | TIR5 Pro | TM MFD Cougar | Gun Camera: PrtScn |
wormeaten Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 I was having similar problem. Skins disapire from editor even core one. Problem was when I was packing some skin in to zip file I leave it in liveries folder. That zip file cause all problems with skins. When I was remove that zip file everithing start to work normal again.
Lenux Posted April 17, 2017 Posted April 17, 2017 I wonder if it's possible to remove the default skin The skin i have for Spitfire it's working only when i use custom missions, bun not for Instant Action / Create fast mission I9 12900k@ 5 GHz | 32 GB DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming Wifi d4| RTX 3090 | 6 TB SSD + 8 TB HDD | 4K Samsung Q90R 55" | VKB MK III PRO L | Virpil Throttle MONGOOST-50 | MFG Crosswind | TrackIR5
-Rudel- Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Yes, over-write the livery files in the zip file within the texture folder. The file names must match. https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD
