How to access manuals during gameplay?

Hi,

I see there is a button "MANUAL" in the in-game menu, but it is not active. How can I access the manuals during gameplay?

Best way is to make JPEGs of the important pages, and put them in the kneeboard folder. All aircraft have kneeboards available, and you can have different page sets for each aircraft.

I if needed would use My Kindle or Nook HD. I've seen several real life Cessna pilots use a tablet for start up procedures now instead of the paper copy used before the tech. was made.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, tables is the best option, like real pilots.

I would imagine it should do what you would think but I have never seen it work and that menu is not mentioned in the documentation, AFAIK. Possibly a 'Work In Progress' item.

this. One of the first things i did upon acquiring a tablet was copy the .pdf manuals onto it.

That button works with the P51, there you have a resumed version of everything you need to fly, from startup to weapon employment, great when you need to check something quick, but haven't tried it on other modules. I think I tried using it with the Huey and it didn't work, so I just created a startup checklist jpeg and added it to the kneeboard.

 

I feel silly now, got a tablet but never thought of copying the manuals there... that's probably the best solution.

I forgot about that. It has been there since shortly after the beta came out, IIRC.

Maybe if alter(or create) some files( images, scripts, configs), the button will work with other modules?

If you are flying a-10c or Black Shark 2 then i would suggest download DCS Manager on your tablet or even on your smart phone. It has the best checklist for every thing which are clickable and in sequence. Checklists of startup to weapons delivery are there. You can download andriod version from here. I hope this will help you
