DarthXavius Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 (edited) So I have gotten back into A-10C after a failed attempt to learn what the hell was going on about 2 years ago. I've got the hang of all the basics and have completed several single player campaigns and multitudinous missions. Just wondering if anyone out there wants to do some multiplayer now that I've got combat employment and everything basic down pat. Still working on refining my gun run fundamentals and SAM avoidance, but I think I can hold my own. Gimme a shout if anyone knows anywhere I can fly with some good people (hopefully an experienced flight leader willing to teach and give pointers). I am hooked on this sim, and I wanna give a huge shout out to Baltic_Dragon and the "Enemy Within" campaign. That shit got my blood rushing and my pickle thumb twitching. EDIT: Just realized there is an actual multiplayer topic in the forums, I did not go up enough. Sorry for posting this in the wrong area. Edited December 2, 2014 by DarthXavius SGT USMC, KILL
StrongHarm Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 If you haven't already read the manual, and want to be absolutely sure you don't have another failed attempt, I'd highly recommend going through the manual thoroughly. Most of the people I've met who gave up on the Warthog simply weren't willing to surrender to the manual. Once you have the self discipline to get through the first 50 pages, it's actually an enjoyable read. If you want a training mission to hone your gun skills, check out my tutorial mission Tank Busting 101. It's improved my skill immeasurably. It's a couple of years old, but I still use it every once in a while to stay sharp. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
Blooze Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 In trying to find others to fly with it always helps to let people know what time zone you live in. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
baltic_dragon Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Hey DarthXavius, glad you enjoyed it - and I have a good news for you, that full version of the campaign (20 mission long), fully voiced - over (kudos to Blooze here) is coming fast (should be ready by the end of the year hopefully). If you want to play-test a mission or two from the new version in MP, PM me, I am online almost every evening nowadays. My timezone: GMT +1. For more information, please visit my website. If you want to reach me with a bug report, feedback or a question, it is best to do this via my Discord channel. Details about the WinWing draw can be found here. Pikey Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Ideally you should find a community like TAW.net. Whilst people get put off with the formality of a fixed weekday squadron night, the feeling of just dropping into Team Speak and picking up a quick game to try something out you wouldn't normally do, is really cool. Last night we were doing IR pointers and buddy lasing at night. We also did a formation unguided bombing run as a fourship - completely unrealistic, but we levelled an entire town and it was so much fun. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

baltic_dragon Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 Where can i Find this campaign that you speak of ? Look at my signature, but I would recommend to wait a few weeks and you will get a much better (and longer) version with voiceovers done by other pilots instead of text - to - speech. But by all means take a look and see if you like this kind of campaign. For more information, please visit my website.
