Hi guys,

I have a lot of blurriness and no amount of driver uninstall/reinstall after driver sweeping has helped. My rig is in the sig below. I tried changing the AF to any setting from 2x to 16x... didn't help at all. Even AA seems to work from within game options, but I cannot force it from nvidia control panel.

Whats interesting is default nvidia profile sets DCS world to Integrated graphics processor (intel 4000), but GPU actvity says nvidia card is active. I set it to high performance nvidia and then no change..again nvidia is the same card which seems to be rendering it. But none of the control panel options work

Also..no amount of TXAA in game or transparency AA In control panel is working. :(

I tried different driver versions.. right now using the latest 334.75 IIRC. I tried reinstalling .48 as well. No help. Still TXAA and AF are not working.

Any suggestions/help?

thanks

I see nothing strange in your screens. As far as i know, if there is no "override" driver setting, DCS uses a 16X anisotropic filter level (or maybe, the max level your CG can do).

I don't see anything wrong myself. Does it look different than before?

The more I look at the images the more I like what I see. Especially the first image, the smoke trail is nice. I know the plume from the exhaust is incorrect but it is one of the things in the "To do list" if I remember correctly.

Nice Rig. well put together for DCS even if it is older, it was put together with DCS in mind or accidently so.

Try some of the User Created Mods. I have the Sky and Cloud update created by...........Ummmm. Dag Burn it.....Can't remember the ED Tester/Moderator who created it at the moment.

.........Anyone...........anyone...........Bheuler? :)

Please check if you have FXAA turned on. It is promoted as a 'free' form of AA but in reality it just blurs edges so they seem smooth.

If you pop-up your ingame FPS meter, is the small yellow text blurred as well?

Me :D

FXAA is disabled in control panel... and really? Does DCS use a 16X filter on its own? I never knew that. I don't have the shots with me right now, but if you look at runways at a shallow angle, you can see the runway markings get/stay blurry at whatever zoom that you use at any AF setting in the control panel.

Also, TSAA in the options doesn't seem to do anything to the fences in the game. Is this just an issue with 1.2.12? If you notice some of the fences in the first pic from my post above...see the white flickering mess...which is terrible while you are trying to land at airfields with the fences.

Haha! The purpose of this laptop was to play the newest games at high settings. But its sad that a 2yr old laptop already struggles with games like AC unity etc. You just can't stay at top with graphic card/CPU tech. I think my next rig will be a desktop again....

I think u mean the shader mod by mustang? I was trying it out..the updates kinda reset it. Need to enable it in Mod manager.

AC Unity = Ubisoft = Crappy console port = optimisation on par with DCS / SWTOR
