Flight Dynamics When Doors Open

Maybe it's me, but while flying ahead, I don't notice any differences in flight model when I open both doors.

 

Should I expect any differences or do you say it's already not expected any difference in flight dynamics in real life?

I always felt that opening the doors reduces the max speed a bit, but other than that I've not felt any differences.

On an amusing note, try opening a nearby window. I found it seriously amusing when I had a breeze come in when I was in the MI8 with the window open

I don’t feel a difference flying doors open IRL.

 

Of note, on the 412, it does reduce Vne from 140 to 120.

So, we can say that it's not measurable or there is no significant difference to model it...

You really doesnt notice any difference* in flight behaviour.

The VNE is only the speed limit allowed, not the maximum possible speed.

 

*) Some helos lit the warning “DOORS” on the warning panel.
