Kalastaja Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 So i've been doing a bit of testing, and it seems that TWS mode is a bit more inaccurate at guiding.Even in 1v1. Can anybody tell me why is that? Also it is a lot easier to keep the bandit locked in STT.
Angel101 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Track While Scan allow you to track multiple targets and engage four at the same time, but of course guides worse all missiles. Single Target Track focus all radar energy to one target thats the reason why is easier to keep the bandit and guides all weapons better.
bolek Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 One reason for loosing a lock easier in TWS is the antenna elevation range. In STT radar is automatically pointed at the target. In TWS antenna scan zone is automatically centered in azimuth on the bugged target(s), but the elevation you need to adjust manually as the situation changes. This can be quite challenging, especially at close ranges and high speeds.

Bandit. Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I thought the was changed to adjust for elevation too recently. This applies to the first selected target.
AussieGhost789 Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Yep, in TWS the elevation changes automatically to keep the primary target locked. No need to adjust it unless you're trying to keep other targets in view. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

After ED fixed it you still had to do it if you had the elevation bound to an axis, dunno if this is the case anymore though. But if you are controlling with keys the elevation will stick to the target. The reason why you easier loose the lock is because the radar doesn't build a memory file for TWS, which means you will lose the bandit as soon as he enters a notch or goes behind a hill or whatever. STT has 6 or 8 sec memory IRC, which means if the bandit comes back out where the radar can see him again before time runs out you regain lock. Ever noticed the TD box blinking and a little MEM in the lower right corner of the HUD? If you have a SARH in the air it will stop tracking when MEM appears but might track again if you regain the lock. Depends how far off course the missile went in the meantime. It does build a track file in TWS, if it didn't, you would have no bug :) It just doesn't have TWS memory, for some reason.
