Blackbird30 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 (edited) I have just bought a Saitek X55 Rhino system and can't for the life of me get it to work in DCS A10. I have used it without issue in KA50, SU25T and other games so I know the hardware is good. I have the setups configured identically for both SU25T and A10 except for seperate left and right throttles in A10. I have checked in fine tune axis that all axis are being detected correctly. I have tried deleting all config/inputs/(aircraft) files as detailed in an older thread to no avail. Just to clarify, all my setups are being done in A10 sim tab. Any help would be much appreciated. :joystick: Blackbird30. Edited January 15, 2015 by Blackbird30 Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz Sandy Bridge-E 32nm Technology Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Revelation Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 Just to be sure, do you own the A-10C module or the A-10A module? Have you ensured that you are in the right tab for the specific module you own. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
Blackbird30 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Yes I own the A10C module and I am working in the A10C Sim controls tab. StandingCow Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Works fine for me... it's gotta be something on your end, the joystick wouldn't physically not work depending on the game you are in. Are you activating the proper profile in the rhino profiler thing? 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo
Insanatrix Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Same, I just got one as well and it works fine here. I think throttle should be Axis X and Y for split throttle not Z. Z is the top rotary and is usually what it defaults to.
AKJAW Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I have the Saitek x55 Rhino and I program everything in the A10c profile and it works good. I did not use the Rhino program.
Blackbird30 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 (edited) ok see attchment, here's how I have it set in game. At the moment I have pitch input but is far too sensitive. Roll and throttles are completely unresponsive. When I first got the stick I installed Shein's X-55 Rhino A-10C Profile. Since then I have deleted the profile software completely and tried using only the in game control software. Neither works :( Thanks for the answers so far. golani79 Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Could it be that your throttle and the stick are switched? Cause for me the X-55 stick is the 2nd column >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
Blackbird30 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Ah well spotted I'll give that a try, just reinstalling A10 at the moment. That looks like it could be the problem though. Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz Sandy Bridge-E 32nm Technology Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Blackbird30 Posted January 16, 2015 Author Posted January 16, 2015 Reinstalled A10C and had a look at the columns in control config screens, all my modules are the same way around with stick on left and throttle on right side column. Must be a localization thing. Tried to configure the axis the other way around but it doesn't work as throttle column does not "see" stick inputs and vice versa. Still stuck. Blackbird30 Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Ran the DCS world repair but still no joy, must be a problem in the A10C module but I've tried reinstalling and clearing all my setup configs :helpsmilie: Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz Sandy Bridge-E 32nm Technology Gigabyte Technology Co. Tone71 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 ... I've tried reinstalling and clearing all my setup configs :helpsmilie: Does that include the configs in your My Documents/Saved Games/ folder? I'm unsure what it's called (maybe Inputs or something) but try renaming this so DCS creates a new one. Blackbird30 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Yes those are the ones I deleted. Will give it another go can't think what else to try. It's obviously something in the A10 folder somewhere because stick and throttle work perfectly in other modules. Blackbird30 Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks for reply, All buttons work on stick and throttle, it's just the throttle and pitch that are totally unresponsive. The pitch kinda works but its going full travel with the slightest touch on the stick. Just tried again in Blackshark and Huey - perfect. Deleted A10C input configs and uninstall/reinstalled module, still no joy. Repaired install - no better. Getting fed up a bit now it has to be said. Contacted Saitek support on this and they pointed me to Shein's X55 profile which was no help. (Looks a great profile by the way). DrDetroit Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 (edited) I had a similar problem that took me over 7-8 hours to rectify. I had to get rid of TARGET and the Saitek software, then program the buttons via in-game controller option. I just picked up Saitek Combat Pedals and Warthog HOTAS the other day, and the Saitek software installed something called Mad Katz, which I think totally f'ed up my DCS install. Mad Katz caused a "!" on my HD when I checked my device manager. So I got rid of it. After deleting TARGET and Saitek software (and Mad Katz), had to do a Steam game integrity check, which found 90+ bad files. Steam dl and replaced the bad files and boom, I can now program my Warthog HOTAS and Saitek pedals via in-game menu. Get rid of the Saitek software if installed, that will probably fix your sim. After you remove the software, do the integrity/file check. Also, figured out I have various USB versions (my pc has 8-USB ports), and it matters which USB I use for the gear...which, from what I can tell, the one that functioned properly with my controller is any USB except 3.0 (I have 2.0, 3.0 and I think 1.1). Hard to tell, but may have 3.0 mixed up with the 1.1 version, as far as which ones work and which don't. Not sure how to determine which port is which, had to do trial and error for a bit. Good luck! Blackbird30 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Thanks for the reply, I have got rid of the Madcatz software a while ago and ran the dcs repair program a few times as I don't have the steam version. I will give swapping the USB connections a go though. Can't get my head around why it would work fine in other modules and not A10. Failing that I'm going to uninstall World and all modules and try a fresh start. Intel Core i7 3820 @ 3.60GHz Sandy Bridge-E 32nm Technology Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Blackbird30 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Changing to USB 2.0 sockets from 3.0 made no difference so have uninstalled everything from my pc and am downloading all packages again. Tone71 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Okay. So you can assign roll and throttle in command menu, under axis tune it works fine, axis isn't assigned anywhere else, no external mapping software installed, works in all other modules, with A-10C it doesn't work. What does the in game axis display window show (Right Ctrl + Enter)? Edit: Do you have Teamspeak installed? runny Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I have the setups configured identically for both SU25T and A10 except for seperate left and right throttles in A10. Blackbird30. I don't understand how you can possibly have identical setups for the Su-25 and the A-10C. Seems like either you're setting up the A-10A (although you said you're not), or you're setting up the A-10C and flying the A-10A. Anyway, assuming that's not it, you say everything works except the joystick sensitivity? What if you don't bind the joystick in the software and just use the DCS controls to do joystick. If you're using software then maybe your stick is on the wrong mode dial setting? I know I'm mentioning obvious stuff but for me a lot of times its the obvious things.
