mj3437 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 needs a save game option! I know this has been brought up before, but since purchasing the Huey, I can see how necessary this is. I am a casual player who really enjoys the sim and have purchased several modules. I very rarely have more than an hour at any one time to fly. I am flying the humanitarian mission to deliver supplies to a remote village. I have been on this mission for several days of just casual play and have been using track replay to continue my mission, but every time I sit down to play, I have to replay more before taking control. Please give us CASUAL players a Game Save option. Thanks for the Sim! Galwran Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 This is needed also for multiplayer. I don't care if it is not cheat-proof; there is no cheating between my friends when we fly co-op.

cichlidfan Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 how can you save a mp session? I would wonder that as well. Saving MP is one problematic item, synchronizing an 'in progress' re-start would be quite another. Save Multiplayer.... erm this is like expecting to pause Multiplayer. whats happens? you hit pause and the rest of the world freezes until you are ready to play again. Sorry but that isn't going to happen, the world doesn't revolve around (or exist for the convenience) of one person.

I wasn't talking about the convenience of on person, than you very much. And there is a pause in multiplayer. I was talking about flying complex and long scenarios WITH FRIENDS against AI. In Falcon 4, you could save the session after a few sorties and continue the same battle on a later date without having to start from the beginning. That way we could even simulate dynamic campaigns; first you would fly a couple of SEAD missions, and later attack the ground troops while your friend flies top cover. Currently you can hop in to any vacant allied (supported) vehicle during the mission, and even in planes that are already airborne, so there would be no trouble in continuing a "frozen/saved mission".
Exorcet Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I would wonder that as well. Saving MP is one problematic item, synchronizing an 'in progress' re-start would be quite another. It might be that the save state has to make approximations, but I don't see why it couldn't be done. That's how it works now. The host can pause MP I believe. Asking for MP save is nothing like thinking the sim has to revolve around one player. It's a feature request that will be useful in some situations, but not all. You can already take control of a MP track. Nothing special happens, all client aircraft that aren't yours simply fly on rails in the direction they were going when you take control.
