Cobra847 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) i No problem... Skylark, Thank you for the observations, much appreciated. There are still adjustments to be made to the shape; so it's good to have some feedback early on.' We have already adjusted the front fuselage angle. You are correct about the gear camber which is pending a fix though. Our wing angle however, seems correct, but I will make sure to verify again. Your engine diagrams depict a TF-30 engined Tomcat, with a different nozzle layout. That said, you are correct about the thrust offset which is the same for both engines. The visual difference is minimal and does not come across well on renders. GeorgeLKMT Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 If we're talking about model adjustments, by looking at the renders now, I believe your countermeasures dispenser is wrong. It should be larger and more back: ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■

BlackLion213 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Also, I wonder if the intakes might be a touch narrow? Thoughts? It's tough to tell from your renders (which I think are beautiful, BTW), but the plastic model kit makers have also had a tough time getting the intakes right. They look different depending on the angle. Your intakes are about the same width as the external tanks and the intakes are wider than the tanks (hasegawa 1/72 Tomcat has intakes that are slightly too narrow). Might be the angle though. My 2 cents, Nick
-Rudel- Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 If anything, there's an F-14D 30min away from me that I can go take measurements of. https://magnitude-3.com/ https://www.facebook.com/magnitude3llc https://www.youtube.com/@magnitude_3 i9 13900K, 128GB RAM, RTX 4090, Win10Pro, 2 x 2TB SSD, 1 x 15TB SSD U.2 i9 10980XE, 128GB RAM, RTX 3090Ti, Win10 Pro, 2 x 256GB SSD, 4 x 512GB SSD RAID 0, 6 x 4TB HDD RAID 6, 9361-8i RAID Controller i7 4960X, 64GB RAM, GTX Titan X Black, Win10 Pro, 512GB PCIe SSD, 2 x 256GB SSD

ED Team Skylark Posted March 14, 2015 ED Team Posted March 14, 2015 If will be made precise measurements of western fighters, let me know please. :) An exchange or purchase is possible. ;)
BlackLion213 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 If anything, there's an F-14D 30min away from me that I can go take measurements of. That would be a definitive answer! I couldn't get a good look from the released renders, but the few shots lead me to wonder a little. You're the better judge since you can look at the renders in detail. It's an important visual feature of the aircraft. To quote/paraphrase Dave Parsons (former VF-32 RIO), courtesy of an F-16 pilot: "Do you realize how big your intakes look when your getting gunned (by the F-14)?" Thank you for checking it out. Your luck to have an F-14D so nearby! -Nick
ED Team Skylark Posted March 14, 2015 ED Team Posted March 14, 2015 Unfortunately, the F-14 should not be outside my window... :) But the analysis of drawings gives the following data on the width of the air intake.

What sorcery is this? ;) I tried estimating this for most of today and came up short. Intakes adjusted, cheers for the sharp eyes gentlemen. ensamvarg Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 What sorcery is this? ;) I tried estimating this for most of today and came up short. Intakes adjusted, cheers for the sharp eyes gentlemen. It's easy mathematics. We know the awesomeness of -Rudel- so that's our constant. Then we just divide it by 1,000,000 and get 744mm. :) HeatBlur Template repository

Thank you for your continued pursuit of perfection! I've known about DCS World for about 2.5 weeks and I'm already a HUGE fan. Thanks to you and Rudel for the amazing work. Best, Nick
