Anyone else have problem with EAS? Recently it has stop being able to work until after a good amount of time. I haven't changed my startup procedure. It seems to work after about 15-20 mins. Any one know how to fix this? I can't engage auto-pilot until after I am well in the air. Also keep in mind no changes have occurred in procedure.

Any and all help is welcomed! Thx

I suppose you mean EAC?

If you want to talk to anyone about anything personal, send it to their PM box. Interpersonal drama and ad hominem rebuttal are things that do not belong on a thread viewed by the public.

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

For my startup, EAC is the very last thing I hit before I start my taxi. It takes so long because it has to wait for the CDU to go through it's alignment. CDU shows T=4.0.0.8 and Nav ready is blinking. Hit the NAV CDU OSB button, go between your knees (behind the stick) and hit EGI, and go over to the left side and hit Radar Altimeter and EAC in that order.

It seems to work after 15 or so minutes because the CDU is aligned after 7 or so minutes when Aligning in "FLIGHT" Mode (ie, if you MOVE your aircraft instead of waiting for the 4 minute Ground Align to finish.)

Do not move your plane before you have nav data ready.

else you have to wait some time before the cdu to align.

Once you have the nav data rdy. watch the compass and throttle up. move your plane 1m forward then break. you see the needles on the compass moves.

You can now push the button EAC.

Why don't you just hit the OSB, EGI and EAC when the align is ready?

CDU Power is the first thing I turn on after APU/APU GEN, while I do everything else.

By time I'm ready to taxi it's less than a minute wait for CDU to complete ground alignment.

You can also select the STAT page on the left MFD and click on the next at the top to see when the CDU is ready it will turn from white to green.

Dejjvid can you explain more?

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

When Alignment starts, press INS (R9), then press ALTALGN (L5), then press FAST (R3). Then CDU goes unto fast alignment mode, It is less accurate. From manual:

"This alignment mode is significantly degraded from a GROUND or INFLT alignment but requires much less time. A FAST alignment is based on stored heading data and Best Available True Heading (BATH). This mode would generally be used when EGI GPS data is not available or if a faster alignment that sacrifices accuracy is needed."

Unsure if this is infact moddelled in DCS.

ps. FAST option is only available a short time after CDU comes online.

Cheers

As HMA explained, but I think you need to punch in BATH (your current heading).

It is stated on the CDU, so just punch it in (XXX.X) and iirc it should go into "MH" or something. Probably R2 or R3. A -BATH suffix will be added on one of the top lines.

Sorry for the crappy explanation, it's late and I'm tired. I can probably upload a video in a few days if there isn't one on YouTube.
