Hoggorm Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Hi, I have three questions about the possibility to change DCS A-10 default settings: 1 - Is it possible to change the radio frequency every channel use so that every time I select channel 3 for example, it will be the emergency frequency of 243 MHz while channel 2 is something else and so on? 2 - Is it possible to change the default laser code of 1688 to something else without having to do it in every mission (what is the range of laser codes by the way?)? 3 - Can I change the default countermeasure programs without having to reprogram every time I start a new mission? Thank you!
Rongor Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) 1 - page 142 2 - page 292 - and your additional question: page 339 3 - page 407 defaults are saved in LUA files... 3 - \DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts\AN_ALE40V\device\AN_ALE40V_params.lua 2 - \DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts\TGP\TGP.lua 1 - in some file in these folders, \DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Scripts (leaving some of the egg search for you) Edited April 10, 2015 by Rongor
Hoggorm Posted April 10, 2015 Author Posted April 10, 2015 Okey Rongor... Thank you. Regarding your reference to the pages in the manual, this was not exactly what I was looking for. Apparently I did not express myself correctly... I do know how to set these things while in the cockpit. The problem is that I usually change them every single time I fly – to the same settings. Doing so in the aircraft will not save the settings for the next time I fly. Hence, how to do it in the aircraft is not what I’m looking for. Your reference to the file AN_ALE40V_params.lua is nice. There I can change the CSM settings. The TGP settings appear to be changing the laser code yes, but I was actually looking for a change in the laser code in the bomb itself – the code I change in the DSMS page. I’d like to load all my bombs with another code than 1688, since I always change this in multiplayer missions. I see that the manual informs about a laser code range from 1111 to 1788, however, I’ve tried lots of codes within this range and all produce an error message. The only ones that appear to be working are within a few from the default code 1688… So I was looking for the code range that actually works… Finally I’m looking for the .lua file that might have every channel and its frequency stored. I assume that you with your phrase “leaving some of the egg search for you” know where it is, but feel I should be able to find it myself. Unfortunately I have no idea what to look for. I’ve looked through the files in the UHF_Radio and VHF_Radio folders but did not find anything there… TLDR: I’m still looking for a file where data for the laser code in the bombs can be changed permanently. And I’m looking for a file that stores channel numbers and their frequencies.
Dejjvid Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Can't really help you, I'm actually looking for the same thing. For laser codes. IIRC the number 9 can't be used. Laser code 1511, 1555 and so on can be used. I think 16XX and 14XX is fine too. But I only use 15XX so don't quote me. :) i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
Angel101 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Laser code: The entered value can range from 1111 to 1788, but the first digit of the series must be a 1 and the last three digits must be between 1 and 8.

Ok, great. I'll check it out. Anyone who knows where the radio channels and their frequencies are stored?
NECK Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Hansolo (HMA on these forums) did a test a while back regarding the laser codes, and this is the conclusion about the laser codes: "The entered value can range from 1111 to 1688, but the first digit of the series must be 1, the second digit of the series must be 1 to 6, and the last two digits of the series must be 1 to 8." With regard to the presets , they are stored in the .miz file of the mission itself- "When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward for there you have been, and there you will always long to return" 132nd Public documents - Want to apply? - 132nd Youtube channel - 132nd Discord Channel

Thank you! What I do is open the .miz file and find the radio default channels files, i.e. [VHF_AM_RADIO]/SETTINGS.lua. Use Notepad++ to manually edit the channel freq assignments in this file and resave the .miz file. Save your personal default channels in a separate file that you can copy and paste into the SETTINGS.lua in .miz. Only way to partially meet your goal AFAIK.
