xray20 Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I have set up a mission with a large number of ground targets over a very wide area. If I tell my AI flight to engage targets, they quickly find units that I would never be able to find by scanning the ground with my targeting pod. My question is, are they impossibly good or am I missing something in the way I find and engage targets?
xray20 Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 OK just as I thought. Is there any way to limit their ability? Maybe set their proficiency to low?
kefuddle Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Impossible knowledge? How about my Mig21 wingman calling "mud spike"
CAT_101st Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 It seams that the only AI that scale are the AA gunners. And your wing man is dumber than the apposing AI for some reason. marluk Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 (edited) I had different issue with my wingman. He was full of ordnance (4*CBU-105, 6*Maverick) and not damaged. We were on about 25000 feet, enough fuel. On the ground many enemy air defenses. I gave him order to attack air defenses with guided bomb. He responded 'Unable'. Then I lower criteria and gave him order to attack air defenses. Again 'Unable'. Even on 'Attack ground target of opportunity' he responded 'Unable'. Then I gave up. After destroyed all SAM sites by myself, we descend on about 10000 feet. I was short on weapons so being desperate I tried once more 'Attack target of opportunity.'. This time he accepts the order and start attacking.... of course with Mavericks although targets was grouped and positioned perfect for CBU attack. Hope for second DCS version wingmans will get at least a little bit enhanced logic. GeorgeLKMT Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Yes, I have the same problem and I usually just give up on him and use him only for spotting targets or RTB. We're on the top of the targets he even reported to me. Always "Unable" or "Roger....Rejoin". And then he proceeds to mav some AAA from 8nm...:D Although I think it might be something with altitude, because when I commanded him to gun run some soft targets at my SPI yesterday, he did that just fine, but we were also at like 5000ft AGL. ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
marluk Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I heard that Wags stated for PCPilot that new DCS 2.0 will have improved AI. So, I'm looking forward to it. :) *NOB* Lucky [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] Tko vrijedi leti, tko leti vrijedi, tko ne leti ne vrijedi
Sceptre Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 They can also make impossible turns and climbs because AI use simple flight model, but the difference is not very big RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
