rcjonessnp175 Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Yup goes to show ya that even with an uber duber card you cant maintain a solid frame rate in dcs world. Needs more cow bell in the cpu department. Will be interesting if you do the same tests when dcs 2.0 comes out. I suspect similar results. I7 4770k @ 4.6, sli 980 evga oc edition, ssdx2, Sony 55 inch edid hack nvidia 3dvision. jctrnacty Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Maybe that ED should include a benchmark in DCSW 2.0, so that we can measure which system suits best to it. SharpeXB Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 (edited) Interesting. Your getting a a higher Max FPS but lower min FPS than I am with SLI Gtx 970s at 4K.. Looks like you've got a stronger CPU. I'm sure that's why. These are the results I got with 2x GTX 980s in SLI. Although I was running a single card, I'm not sure if there's a benefit to running SLI on a single monitor in DCS. Do you see a boost running both? http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=142849 Edited May 6, 2015 by SharpeXB i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
Greekbull Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I see a pretty significant boost 35-40% Running SLI with the GTX 970. It was very finicky to setup. I ran into problem after problem running 4K @60Hz with HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.0 on my Vizio 4K. Did some reading and discovered it was a known issue at Nvidia. One of the suggestions as to set the refresh at 59Hz. I tried that and it works perfectly. SharpeXB Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Well the sad truth is it really takes two Titan X cards to run most games at 4K and Ultra settings. DCS at least seems to perform well with only one So here's some tests with the Titans in SLI running exactly the same replay tracks in DCS All High Settings 2xAA Vsync off Single monitor 3840x2160 A-10C Surrounded SLI Min 26 Max 134 Avg 70 Single GPU Min 37 Max 121 Avg 60 Su-27 Blockade Ramp SLI Min 14 Max 138 Avg 30 Single GPU Min 20 Max 123 Avg 39 On the worst case Blockade scenario the single GPU actually performs better. In the A-10 mission the average is lower although still 60fps but the minimum is higher. Plus the SLI bug on the mirrors is gone So with DCS then the best route for the Titan X seems to be run single GPU i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

Gladman Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 I run 5760x1080 and get results the same as GreekBull outlines with my sli GTX780's. I think I've seen a max around 114 and a min around 20-25 but average around the 45 mark lower to the ground and 75 up around 15k. I'm also running a 4790k. It would seem the software needs to catch up to the hardware when taking the Titan into consideration. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord
SharpeXB Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 (edited) where i can find that scenarios for FPS test? Can you describe in detail the methodology of the test? It's a stock mission for Flaming Cliffs 3. Just sit on the ramp in the Su27 cockpit and turn your head right and left repeatedly. It's the worst FPS I can find and easily repeat in DCS I can't quite tell if replay tracks perform exactly the same as live gameplay. The A-10 Surrounded in the first post is live with an Avg of 66 and the replay track is actually lower at 60. I would expect replays if anything to be higher. Many games I can recall being able to run them smoother at higher settings in replay. SharpeXB Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Wow there's a big difference between SLI and single in the P-51D Quick Mission circuit, all High settings, AA 2x 3840x2160 Single GPU Min 32 Max 119 Avg 43 SLI Min 20 Max 131 Avg 33 So in this case SLI is very much worse with the Titan X than running a single card i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

On a side note when I do dsr 4k performance is horrible in sli think its a major bug with dcs world and nvidia drivers IMO I tried DSR and it's not worth the performance hit. Asking your machine to do 4K and display it at 1080p. The effect is negligible and the performance loss too great. With SLI 980s you can run DCS maxed with 8q AA and it looks and runs much better. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

SharpeXB Posted June 1, 2015 Author Posted June 1, 2015 I take back what I said about running SLI. Maybe a driver update has changed something but I ran a mission yesterday in the A-10C that normally was a demanding one and it ran very smooth on both cards. It keeps the temp down too. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

SharpeXB Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 I ran a Display Driver Uninstaller and I think I get better performance running SLI now, it seems to work very well now. One important thing I realized was to set the cockpit displays to "every frame" to eliminate the flicker in the mirrors. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
