Puma Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I have a warthog. The three standard mic positions are used, but up is available so i used it to simulate a keystroke for my voice activation software. Now i need a button for ptt in teamspeak. Id really love to have it on the mic switch somehow. Any ideas? I tried to see if i could use target to use a mod button to have a different keystroke but didnt see a way to do that. Any ideas or best practices? Hansolo Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Why not map WH mic switch fwd-down-aft as push to talk in TS. Then you can map the same in DCS but this time include a modifier. I use the paddle switch (the one forward of nose wheel stering switch) as a modifier. This means that when I am using TS&Aries the radio menu's do not show up in DCS. And when I need the DCS radio for e.g. calling ground to re-arm, I hold the modifier (paddle switch) along with mic switch forward. Just a suggestion Cheers Hans 132nd Virtual Wing homepage & 132nd Virtual Wing YouTube channel My DCS-BIOS sketches & Cockpit Album
98abaile Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 The mic switch has 5 functions, try pressing it inwards.
-Hammer- Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Dont forget you can also press the mic switch. cichlidfan Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 For future reference, to get two functions out of one button (without using a modifier key/button), look up the TEMPO command in the Target Script Editor manual, pg 20. Puma Posted August 17, 2015 Author Posted August 17, 2015 In case this helps anyone, i found an even cooler solution. I installed autohotkey and used an example script to simulate a keypress when either mic am, fm or uhf are depressed. Ahk sends both the original joy button and the keystroke. I have the key (backspace) mapped as push to talk in dwvac. So, i press and hold any mic direction, and dcs receives the joy down event to shiw the radio menu, while ahk triggers the key to activate dwvac so as long as i hold i can use voice activated radio commands. Exactly like real function and doesnt need the extra button. Need-To-Know Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Good find Puma. I also use VAC and it works great for hands free comms with the AI. I used to use Autohotkey but have now switched to JoytoKey, I find it easier. Setup is easy and a vid for how simple it is : Fight to fly, fly to fight, fight to win. Callsign: Need Shu-Ha-Ri

pandastick Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 I use the mic switch button for trackir configs (pause, zoom, reset) and use the right hand pinky paddle as a shift which then turns the mic switch into a... mic switch! i75820k @ 4.3GHZ - X99 ASUS DELUXE - H110 - 16GB DDR4 3000 - GTX970 - DELL U3415W
