muamshai Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 "The Su-34 has an unusually large flight deck rather than a cockpit, having space for a galley, a latrine, and a bunkbed. It was joked that "It's got a bigger cockpit than the Tu-160". Much of the design work went into crew comfort, which is why the cockpit is so large, and why some of the unusual features were included. Some of these include a cockpit pressurized by the air conditioning system, rather than with oxygen masks, and space in the cockpit to lie down (one at a time) and massage function in the K-36 ejector seats" I am interested to see the interior of Su-34 cockpit. Anybody has some pics? This space is available for your advertisement
nscode Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Don't forget the tea maker :) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Anybody has some pics? Sorry to disappoint you, no. There are two pics, one showing the entrance hatch, the other looking down at the entrance/hermitization hatch. And there are a few interior shots of the prototype planes with "test" MFDs (those square ones, not the rectangular seen in a su-34 video at Patrick's site) I have a pic of the ejection seat (sure, it would be strange if I hadn't one, eh?), and some maks photos looking from the side, but not much to see. I suspect the cockpit is somehow a secret of some sort, maybe they are ashamed to admit they have a Whirpool microwave, rather than some Russian brand :P Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Fudd Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 http://www.republika.pl/hudi/su34/Su-34%20cockpit.htm Only one I could find.... there is another looking through the nose wheel door just like ForceFeedback said. The code is probaly in Russian anyway.
Cobra360 Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Between 3 and 5 production standard models were delivered to the Russian Airforce early this year. I doubt they are operational yet, still training I suppose. There are also 7-9 test airframes numbered 41-47 or 49 that have been built over the last ten years.

muamshai Posted May 19, 2006 Author Posted May 19, 2006 I wonder what if that latrine will overflow? Are they going to drop crap instead of bombs? :D This space is available for your advertisement
Force_Feedback Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I wonder what if that latrine will overflow? Are they going to drop crap instead of bombs? :D That's why there are no photos of it, they want to hide the secret "crappet bombing" panel next to the loo. Don't think they got room for a stripper in there. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
S77th-GOYA Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 There's always room for a stripper. Even Orville and Wilbur had room for a stripper.
Force_Feedback Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 There's always room for a stripper. Even Orville and Wilbur had room for a stripper. They had real poles, and not those ejection seat guidance rails :/ Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
nscode Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 But their missiles had a bad PK record Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
