And since Open Conflict is dynamic, missions are never the same and always full of surprises! This is a short movie I made from footage shot on the OC server when I had an unexpectedly exciting time in a rescue Huey. I hope you enjoy: Going to see if I can make something similar for a gunship Huey.

Of course as soon as I posted it I found way better music to use. Also found some awesome background ATC clips that ... oh well.. I'm working on a Huey gunship video on Open Conflict... maybe I'll use them there. Thanks for the positive reinforcement. However you really need to check out SKullz Genuine Huey sound mod, it is a MUST for huey pilots. You will never use the stock sounds again! doodenkoff Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I would love to join up with 3-4 other Huey pilots and go wreak havoc on targets sometimes. I'm not the greatest helo pilot, but I'm enthusiastic. I did fly a delivery tonight and made two good landings. The arrival at the airport was sweet....I think I'm starting to get a feel for manipulating the collective. Will definitely use it for the next video. We'd need to maintain some separation, I'm not up for formation flying yet. But it would certainly make for some great footage. I fly at least a couple of hours a day and have had the Huey since June and its all I fly. With all that, you saw my landings in the video. Especially that first one was down right scary. I currently buy it about 30% of the time trying to land at that LM59 Field Hospital. I've watched a ton of videos and sought advice on Reddit which has helped tremendously. Landings aren't usually pretty, but other than LM59 I'm up to a 90% success rate now. [sIGPIC]Complimentary barf bags available on request.[/sIGPIC]

Both those are the same, in my head, which is why I would occasionally press F5 on the cargo delivery. The only player input tools I have are chat command and radio menu and the only output tools are text popup, sounds (limited because of mission size) and chat combat log. It's not that bad but I wish I had graphical user interface, keybindings, voice commands and such :music_whistling: It's a lot of tries and errors to make Skynet interactive and accessible. :helpsmilie: I am still not 100% happy with it, especially for VR. If I put the same effort in learning the huey that I put in learning how to dogfight, bvr and kill F15C, I would be able to land without entering vortex ring state. Almost as soon as I entered the CZ, I get the "enemy fighter in vicinity" warning. I take the Huey down to treetop level (literally) and scoot along, hoping to be low and slow enough. My head is on a swivel now and just as I'm about to turn my head forward I hear a "WHOOSH!" and turn to see a smoke trail just under the helo. I don't even know if it came from astern or forward. Seconds later, "oh, he's in front of me"; I know 'cause I can see the missile this time. I waited a second, then jinked to the left, leaving the missile to blow by the canopy by about a meter or so. Right on its tail was the enemy fighter, who blasted on past me. This is a wide open plain with zero cover. No ravines, valleys, or gulleys. The best I could hope for was to turn and head back to the village I had just overflown, set down among some buildings, and wait for him to leave or get chased off. Sadly, I realized I was much too far from the town to make it in any decent time, so I decided to perform an "Air Cav" landing and hope the enemy pilot can't spot me in the ground clutter. Came in too fast, flipped the Huey, and burned. Damn. I hate it when that happens. So I load up two medical personnel and a crate of repair parts and depart Lochini for a medical base out west of town. About 15km from my objective, I spot green smoke about 1km to my north. Ah hah! I think, that's where that pilot down is located, I'll pick him up on the way back. I had to drop off the cargo first. KABLAM! POW! BOOM! A Gepard blows me out of the sky. Sneaky convoy. Now I know what brought down the plane flown by the stranded pilot. So I load up two medical personnel and a crate of repair parts and depart Lochini for a medical base out west of town. This time, I'm taking an alternate route that puts me on the other side of a low range of hills from where I expect the convoy to be prowling. I get to the "notch" in the hills where I change my bearing a few degrees and smugly think, "I got this one.." KABLAM! POW! BOOM! Another Gepard. Crash and burn. Scorecard: AI -- 12 red personnel (four each flight, co-pilot, pilot, and two med personnel) and three crates of repair parts. Me -- 0 Good job mirknir.....I prefer a challenge.
