Flew with SpecialK yesterday to Sachere Supply Base and laid waste to it. First time I've ever flown "with" someone. I need to do it some more. The supply base was kind of challenging for me; the area is not wide-open and maneuvering within the canyon is a learning experience.

 

Pro-tip...turn off your nav lights when entering the CZ. Also turn off your landing light. I was able to keep track of my sortie companion by the large patch of illumination on the ground just under his helo.

 

Later, went on an enemy pilot/commando rescue at night. I was pleased to successfully find the extraction point, land in the dark, and return the prisoner to an airfield.

 

Also, make sure your UHF radio is on. Radar can cause a hiss in the channel when your in its path.

That's true! But on the other hand, all (fighter) on each side have a reference point.

A-10C and M-2000C can enter Nav-Points in the INS - now there are only ~250 aircrafts left. :megalol:

 

Edit: Played today 2 rounds - it was very nice with TS. I noticed that both red-side-tankers racetrack pattern far away (behind the airfield from Bullseye). So it's easier to refuel the aircraft after landing. Have you think about an other position of the tankers?

 

In this mission the tankers are for training and fully protected in the protected zone.

I have another mission where the conflict zone is bigger and the tankers are operational and mildly protected by ships.

Only the 3rd time for me. It was also my 3rd hour flying with my replacement HOTAS, the mighty Warthog. I was so nervous. I was just glad I didn't crash into you.

 

The supply base is challenge to maneuver around. I liked that you went up one part of the Y to turn around and I went up the other. Kept us separated very nicely. I put every rocket I had into those tanks on the sides after you RTB'd. I couldn't destroy any of them. Tough little buggers.

 

Lets do it again sometime!

I've been playing the server all weekend. Right now I'm looking for it and I can't see it. I've even have the server set as a favorite. Yet it is refusing to show in the server list now. People in teamspeak say the server is up right now.

 

I'm not the only one experiencing this at this moment. Some guy left the server to help me find IP and now he can't see it either.

It's me, no doubt. Twice I flew to rescue pilots and had to say "see ya!" My hovering sucks and I've got zero experience at hovering pickups.

I've been playing the server all weekend. Right now I'm looking for it and I can't see it. I've even have the server set as a favorite. Yet it is refusing to show in the server list now. People in teamspeak say the server is up right now.

Server sometimes lose the connection with ED's lobby and the direct IP is the only way to connect.

I found no way of detecting the connection lost as the server is still running and people are still playing, just less and less until it's empty.

For this reason and also memory leak, the server restarts fully every 5 resets.

 

I've manually restarted it right now :thumbup:

I regretfully wanted to inform whoever the pilot on Reds side last night whom I shot down as a friendly kill with my AIM9P. I had a good tone growling in my headset, but the bandit was outside my HUD to get a confirmation on IFF. There were two other enemy bandits within the area whom I was chasing one, but lost him in the valleys.

Again really sorry whoever you were.

Overall loads of fun flights were had :)

I've done some testing and not found any performance loss. It is so much cooler than TS3 and I think increases immersion.

So the helicopter party started out great! 2 infantry incursions destroyed (American made huey was only original helicopter to survive both :D ) Good formation flying and teamwork, went to rescue a downed pilot by the name of Bert...all was well...:music_whistling:

Then someone had the great idea to call out the rest of the pilots and challenge them to go under a railway bridge :dunno:

 

The SA342 did of course because its so tiny its almost worthless :megalol:

 

The mi8...well lets just say :crash: he didn't make it. Not even close. In fact I'm pretty sure his helo was bigger than the hole he was trying to go through in the first place:doh:

Then jumped out to go for a swim and cosmic tried to suicide me as there was no more helos to fly together! The End

I use Voice Attack. Been using it for a couple of years for Elite Dangerous. Works OK in DCS, you just have to take care to put the menus themselves in a known state before you start using voice commands to work the menu. For instance, when you take off if the menu doesn't go back to the main menu, then you need to manually put it back there before doing voice commands. There is probably a way to get the VA command to insure the menu is in a known state, but I haven't found a 100% foolproof way to do it.

Voice attack is amazing software. I've been using it for a long time as well. It is perfect. You can make any word do any computer command. It is less than $10 or was when I bought it direct from them. You can do windows voice training to make it understand you better. Do that once or twice and you have an awesome program.

 

I just got done with an A10c run on the server. It was amazing I finally took out ground obj AMB for the blue team all on my own. It was a heck of a time finding the last two tanks in the middle of the city. Also scored an air to air kill with an aim 9.

 

I love this server and I wish there was either another server or a higher player cap.

A lot of commands but not many that you need depending on the circumstances. I use voice attack and while it would be capable of opening up chat and typing a command I can just type it rather easily. Also it can do the radio menus but you'd have to either say F 1 and program that to F1 or make numerous F key commands with all the different words. Personally I only do this for JTAC.

I just have voice commands that do multiple menu commands for me. For instance, as a Huey pilot I have a command "chief rescue the pilot" that tells the crew chief to perform the rescue. That involves several F button presses, which is good because trying to press all those buttons while hovering is a huge pain.

 

I also have ones like "report status pilot 1" which pulls up the chat window and does a "-re pil1" command. Or "report status capture 1" for "-re cap1".

 

All that and I'm still terrible. But it isn't Voice Attack's fault, VA is fantastic.

Just curious as to what your map rotation plan is? Weekly? Bi-weekly? Never see Tuapse again?! It was such great map! We all miss it
