aap_flanker Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Hi! I'm planning to create a mission where a large street is used as runway. The problem is that once landed I can't rearm. Any help? thks Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip
piolin23000 Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 yes, you can't rearm and refuel out of airbase
DarkFire Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 Some mission creators were exploring the possibility of using the scripting engine to enable the creation of a FARP at a given location by having various FARP components delivered by air. Not sure how far the idea went or whether it was decided that this was possible or not. So for helicopters it might, just might, be possible. For fixed wing aircraft, definitely not. You are able to land on and take off from roads but their only practical use in-game is to land on if you run out of fuel. Yurgon Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 A short while ago I landed my A-10C on a road and parked next to a FARP, but wasn't able to refuel or rearm, thereby confirming the previously made observations. It would be awesome if this was possible, but as far as I can tell it doesn't work right now. :noexpression:
aap_flanker Posted August 26, 2015 Author Posted August 26, 2015 What a shame... It would be great! Roadrunner Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 in the farp.lua (C:\*your folder*\DCS World\Scripts\World)there is one entry: farp_objects_search_radius = 150.0i have beeing thinking about that entry a while back, but never tested what it is actualy for. one of this purposes i'd think: 1 - check for closer targets to not overlap 2 - check if support units for refuel/rearm are in range 3 - check if aircraft is in range for rearm/refuel i dont think it's #1, always assumed its #2, but someone else might have tried already and knows, or you just try it ;) anyway, you would still need a FARP somewhere. regards, RR [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There's nothing to be gained by second guessing yourself. I was thinking that FARP could be the solution but, as it is intended for helicopters I wasnt sure if its gonna work with planes... Anyway, I will try and let you know the results!! shagrat Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 I'm pretty sure it is #2 and searches for support structures and units e.g. ammo tent, fuel depot, FARP command post, a Humvee etc. ...let us know if you find anything different. Roadrunner Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 (edited) i changed the value to 150000.00 for a test, to courious myself right now, lol result for UH-1H test: i could rearm as far from the FARP as you see in the picture below. i do NOT know however how far away you can be with the default value. now you have me in, i will place a farp at the airstrip at kutaisi and test with an aircraft...... EDIT: i reset the value to 150.00 and tested again with the huey, could only rearm when sitting on the FARP, so that question is answered. however, i placed a FARP on the airstrip at kutaisi and landed a 109 there, i was able to taxi on the FARP, but never got anything, so the FARP seems to be hardcoded for helicopters, or you have to try with another aircraft, i.e. A-10C and one FC3 aircraft to get more answers. JorgeIII Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 A little trick may help you. Look at the 4th mission in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=139994 Maybe you can also increase objects search radius for a specific airport. AKA TANGO-117. DCS Modules: most of them, proficiency: only a few at a time. The most crucial aspect of a simulator is its realistic physics and precise aerodynamics, accurately reflecting all flight conditions.

I have tried editing this two values: farp_objects_search_radius = 1000.0 farp_objects_update_dt = 1000.0 but it doesn't work... I think as you said that FARP only works with helis I'll keep investigating and let you know if i found something:joystick: Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip

I have tried and it seems like this only works because is near to Adler airfield.... But what you said could be a good idea.... Maybe you can also increase objects search radius for a specific airport. I will try to figure out how does it works Intel i5 11700F + H80 | 4x4GB 3200mhz RAM | AORUS ELITE B560M | Samsung 850 PRO SSD 256gb| KINGSTON SA400 480GB SSD | WD 500GB | Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB | Antec 1200 PSU | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS and homemade panels and rudder pedals | 24" Samsung T24C550 @60Hz 2ms | Opentrack 3 led clip
