I did also read all this fancy stuff about the 22 too but I am still not convinced that

at the end of the engagement the 22 would have scored more than 5 kills.

My point is at the end of the engagement you look at 6 kills (1x22 and 5xSu) with 1 Su going home!

(Outnumbered)

BTW, I was already reading technical articles about HOJ since the beginning of my falcon period (read 1999! Believe me I know a lot about HOJ and jamming!

About RWR I will talk later.

BTW, It is 22:25 in Belgium!

Good night!

You read the reports about the F16 and F15 pilots doing multiple WVR exercises on the F-22?

WVR kills . . . . . aren't happening ;)

And that's with six on . . . . . when minimum of four of them are dead BVR, you don't even have to think about the outcome.

Come on - this is what the F-22 was designed to do!

You can only develop an aircraft designed to beat the F-15 so far . . . . and it's not this far . . .

Ok Tucksonsonny ... I'm just correcting the obvious, glaring gaps in your knowledge ;)

i have two comments to add to this conversation.

1. In your six vs 1 senario your right one raptor wont kill six -35's but six -35s cant kill what they cant see. How does splitting up help any if you have no clue where the -22 is. and normally there will be 2 -22s up working together the one firing the missles gets the info from the other guy. Just something to think about.

2. its all about the pilot.

Anybody that thinks 6 Su-30/35s can surround and attack 1 F-22 from multiple directions is smoking some seriously good stuff. Or HOJ an F-22. Seriously good stuff.

I thought the F-22 was designed to float on a lake... at least that's what that ugly thing they call an aircraft looks like it's best at doing. :D

It is... IMO of course... the forward fuselage looks like it was designed in a ship yard. :)

Clip the wings and vert stabs and you have a boat.

the Su-30MKI cost to India 35$ per unit.

Now THAT'S what i call real price dumping! :D

I'm really not sure how any of your Su-35's are going to be sneaking by in the face of all this, especially since the 22 will be tracking them from 160km out and they'll barely be even aware if at all.

Su-35 is not really a fighter to mess with F-22. It's just intended to succesfully compete with the aging fleet of fighters from around the world at the export market.

New airframe, new engines, missiles, radar, electronics and eos, everything they got is gonna be there to keep the plane adequate till ~2012, when the 5th gen comes out.

Good retort, Rugg. I guess that previous statement rules GG out as ever having fired an M4. I shoot one regularly, and the damn thing...well...I just can't seem to get it to jam like myth would have it. Its got a nice, wide ejection port, and you can pretty much put one round through the hole the last one made EVERY TIME, regardless of barrel heating, using your BZO sight. One thing I don't like about the M4's and other AR-15-based rifles though is that the damn buffer spring makes my ears ring through bone induction. Aside from that, the M4 is a superb rifle. Keep your upper receiver relatively clean and your gas-rings staggered...she won't let you down. Blowback into the bolt-carrier group is an issue, but its pretty easy to keep up with. Just pop that rear take-down pin with your knuckle, and out it comes.

The M16 series of rifles is the most accurate 5.56 rifle fielded by an army today.

Its good, buts its not the best. There are HKs and Sigs that are better.

All I know is that the undisputed king of air to air - the Eagle, gets its butt handed to it when going against the Raptor. The SA in the pit is tremendous and with the slammer-D, you can see when the slammer gets autonomous lock on it's target and if it loses lock during its flight. It integrates anything with a data link (JSTARS, AWACS, RJ, you name it) without shining your radar anywhere. Then there's the radar, which has virtually no scan rate, can lock and jam a contact simultaneously, and can paint a fighter sized contact at significantly greater distances than any competitor out there. I'd much rather be in a 4ship of Raptors with 24 slammers, than in any other 4ship of any other type of fighter out there. Sorry, but despite it's price tag, it still leverages the tech out there better than anything else flying. This isn't about US vs Russian vs European tech, it's about new tech vs old tech.

Heh...well...I guess I can't argue with that either. Heckler-Koch definitely makes some fine firearms...I wouldn't trade my USP 45 for all the tea in China. AWESOME weapon. :D

Just a word of support for GG in his last post though...I love it how the "ignorance is bliss" crowd never seems to be able to back up their words with a solid argument. Its kinda comical actually. :D
