Joni Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Wont we get any active missiles like the MICA? The module seems absolutely fantastic but this absence will make it very weak against a mig29 or f15. Also, we will get ccip and ccrp modes, but how will those work if the mirage doesnt come with target designators? Chrinik Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The same way they work in the SU-27 and Mig-29? They also have no designators, but guess what, they have COMPUTERS...they do all this hard math-sh!t for the pilot. Also, you don´t get MICA because you get a version that can´t use them. And from what I heard 40km range above 7000m sounds plenty enough to compete with any old FC3 toy. McBlemmen Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 you need to designate a target for CCRP.... You don't need a TGP to be able to designate a target.

Joni Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 You don't need a TGP to be able to designate a target. lol i know... i will re formulate my question: how will the mirage 2000 designate targets effectively in order to make use of the CCRP mode? Zeus67 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 the C version uses MICA........ you need to designate a target for CCRP.... Unfortunately no. The C version uses the RDI radar, which is incompatible with the MICA missiles. The -5 version, a newer one with the RDY multimode radar, basically a French version of the F/A-18 radar, is the one who uses MICA. CCRP bombing is tied to the navigation system of the aircraft. Basically the mission profile has stored the targets coordinates so that the computer calculates the release point for the bombs as soon as the pilot enters into attack mode. It is more complex than that, but be assured that people were dropping bombs by CCRP long before lasers were invented. McBlemmen Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 lol i know... i will re formulate my question: how will the mirage 2000 designate targets effectively in order to make use of the CCRP mode? I don't know , i'm not too familiar with mirage 200 (yet) but like Chrinik said it could be trough the HUD like su 27/Mig29/su25t, or maybe you can enter coordinates and have the INS guide you onto target. hell maybe even a system to make new offset waypoints from current waypoints.. but i doubt that
Cantiga Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 lol i know... i will re formulate my question: how will the mirage 2000 designate targets effectively in order to make use of the CCRP mode? Get the target coordinates from A-10C, JTAC, and enter it into INS console. You can drop bombs onto there.
Tirak Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 the C version uses MICA........ you need to designate a target for CCRP.... No, the Mirage 2000C S-5 does not use MICA. CCRP can be done with radar, which the Mirage has.

Be as you say but the RDI, which is the version that we are developing, cannot use MICA. mattebubben Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The French Mirage 2000C is the only Mirage 2000 variant with the RDI missile right? The Exports either used the Older RDM or the Mirage 2000-5s that used the RDY. Atleast thats how i understood it =P.
Joni Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 ok, this is too much information for me lol, let me process.. Zeus: so you say that ccrp is done through coordinates pre loaded? It means we cant enter them in flight? OK about not being able to use the MICA, bad news, but I understand the version cant handle it. Tirak said it can be done with the radar. So it means we will have a ground radar? Im sorry for too many questions, im trying to see if I buy it today or wait until next year when it it released. This would also help a lot for Sabre vs. Flanker... Real Mirage 2000C cannot handle MICA, so the DCS aircraft will not. In fact you don't even need geographical coordinates because you can enter them as polar coordinates, ie: a bearing angle and distance to fly. I was indicating that on a normal mission, the target coordinates would already been input in the INS by the ground crew or by the pilot at the start of the flight. In extremis, you can point your aircraft at the target, click on the lock and then allow the computer to calculate a CCRP solution. Bidartarra Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The M2000 will be awesome, the lack of active missile is not a problem. It will be a wonderful addition to the game.
Zeus67 Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 The Super 530D is a far better missile than the AIM-7 Sparrow, which is the closest one to it in terms of capability. It will give you ranging info of the ground but not about a specific target. That is why it uses INS as primary CCRP source. myHelljumper Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Zeus, Awesome work on this bird, it looks very enjoyable and FINALLY a french fighter in DCS. I wanted to ask you, are you doing to release the DCS M-2000C Manual before the aircraft itself, it would give us stuff to read in order to not loose our mind ^^ Keep up the good work ;-) Helljumper - M2000C Guru Helljumper's Youtube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCK3rTjezLUxPbWHvJJ3W2fA
