As the title says, Cause last time I tried running DCS with the FX6300 it can worse than my old PC which had a Intel Core 2 duo,

Kinda hoping that the update will have better optimizations and better support for newer hardware,Otherwise Ill have to sell my account and go for another sim sadly.

Sadly yeah,I dont want to invest 500$ into a processor thatll make the game run at 30fps however, Do hope they bring the game up-to-date with hardware within the last 5 years..

The FX-8350 is still a powerful CPU by today's standard, but sadly there's not much software out there that is able to fully utilize it. The new rendering engine coming with 1.5 might help a little, but I don't have too high hopes because it uses dx11 which does not multi thread well enough for the FX-8350. This CPU need dx12 to really shine thanks to the much better multi threading in dx12. With that said though, I have ran DCS for a long time on my FX-8350 and with an over-clock at 4.6ghz DCS runs okay. Not great, but acceptable.

IIRC a lot will depend on your graphics card with 1.5/2.0 so depending on what you have I would wait and see how that works first.

i5 4690k / MSI Gaming 5 / 2 x 8 GB Crucial Ballistix ram / Zotac AMP! 980Ti / 2 x 250 SSDs

Flight Controls:Virpil VPC MoogoosT-50 / MFG Crosswinds / GVL Throttle / Oculus Rift CV1

You will solve exactly nothing this way. Your problem have a complete different root cause. Just sit down and think about it multiple time

Root cause is games old Single-Threading programming style, With 1.5 or 2.0 I cant get a solid answer on whether or not itll be addressed without getting the standard "1.5 and 2.0 fix a varity of performance issues" but if 2.0 still relys on single threading, AMD users and alot of Intel uses will suffer due to the old style of programming. IL2 (CoD)(BoS) is kinda the example here, while not as big in scale, it makes up in graphics and details. The airframe actually having a airfame(Bends to a extent) instead of DCS:Styrofoam (just poofs) and due to multi-threading, the game runs great, and works great.

All the videos are made on a 4000$ Intel power house machine, and frankly, I dont want to drop 500$+ on just a processor, for a single game that refuses to update with the hardware around it.

It was stated quite some time ago that DCS 2.0 will not be multi-threaded.

What a shame.Guess this big update only moves the game forewords to about 2011. Owell fingures crossed their wrong.

The focus is not to multi CPU but to multi GPU and this is a general industry approach. DirectX12 knows to handle parallel tasks way better than previous versions and for everybody surprises only newest GPU from AMD are capable to use this feature 100%. Having this in mind, the CPU single thread might fall to less importance as it is now.

And the most important thing: DCS 1.5/2 is multi GPU capable. Now I think you understood what I have wanted to say about this issue.
