Come on ED this is ridiculous. I just want to enjoy the 1.5 beta like everyone else.

See post 2 in this thread for the correct distro.

Does anybody from ED actually read these threads? If not what is the purpose of an open beta if nobody from ED is responding to reported problem. I do understand it is an open beta and there will be plenty of bugs but not even starting up is very disappointing:(

Yes they do, as do the testers. We need as much information as possible to assist each individual bug / crash. Which is why following the FAQ will help us help you quicker, especially for crashes as everyone's machine is different which in turn can produce varied results.

Your log folder can be found here C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs please zip it, and attach it to this thread and we will endeavour to assist you.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply!

There is no folder DCS.openbeta in my Saved Games folder. I have only Saved Games\DCS which looks like it is from my 1.2.16 Steam installation. Is this folder created on the first start up? If so it looks like the game crashes before it creates this folder.

OK, I see from the other thread that I need Visual C++ 2013. I'll try installing that.

I presume the Steam install doesn't include that among the 7 pre-requisite packages it installs? I can understand it being left out by mistake initially but would have thought it would've been added along with one of the hotfixes.

I started with a fresh Windows 10 Home 64 Bit and installed only what is absolutely needed to run the game. No anti virus installed at the moment.

The game still does not start. As described facing "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" It looks like not even the folder Saved Games\DCS.openbeta is created

Ok so my fix is strange. I installed the Star wars battlefront beta and got the msvcp120.dll is missing error. So I ran the vcredist_x64.exe installer. This is the 2013 version, ran the repair, when it offered me the restart I said yes and now both games work! So I don't know what it is or how to fixed it but it did. I ran the installer and repair many times before. So good luck.

@bazarebro: Was DCS 1.5 crashing with the message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" or did you have the dll-missing error?

Posted

Can't start missing .dll

The open beta won't start, as it says MSVCR120.dll is missing. I have re installed the program from scratch, but the problem persists. I have checked that the .dll is present in Windows Microsoft.NET files& even loaded a new version of the .dll file to be sure.

The mystery is that DCS World 1.2.16.43180 and FSX all run perfectly, so why won't DCS 1.5 run?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I was getting the "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)" Error. I uninstalled all my Visual C++ all the way to 2005 and 5 i think. Then i repaired it,restarted, now it works.

OB standalone works fine for me in Win8.1 but if I boot to Win10 I can't launch it. I originally had errors about missing MSVCP120.dll and MSVCR120.dll, so I searched my C: partition and found them installed by another program in it's own folder and copied them to Windows\system32.

That stopped those error popups and I get this one about (0xc000007b) now instead.

I ran the vcredist_x64.exe from the OB\dist folder and let it repair. I also have OB in Steam, so I tried launching it from there, which made it install 7 required packages but then it just doesn't launch at all when I click Play and it didn't help with the standalone. Tried verifying integrity of files as well and that didn't help.

Programs and Features shows I've got the x86 and x64 versions of:

Visual C++ 2005

Visual C++ 2008

Visual C++ 2010

Visual C++ 2012

There's actually two versions of the x64 2012 installed, v11.0.50727 and v11.0.61030. Only the latter is installed for x86.

I've tried installing VC 2013 now as well. First I tried the x64 version, DCS OB still gives the same error. Then I tried adding the x86 version, same error. Perhaps someone could advise what DCS OB actually requires?

Solution that worked for me.

Hi, I had same problem with MSVCR120.dll. I tried to uninstall and repair the MS Redistributable, but it didn't work for me.

I turned on Windows Updater and after updates- it's working! :D

So try to update Windows by Windows Updater until all of updates wil be installed (it takes me 2 days, or maybe 2 updates).
