ED Team NineLine Posted October 11, 2015 ED Team Posted October 11, 2015 Can you test you're GPU usage, I've noticed that mine is at 100% on both cards. Even if crossfire disabled. Ex: Enabled GPU 1 100% 1120 GHz 1024mb GPU 1 100% 1120 GHz Disabled GPU 1 100% 1120 GHz 1024 mb GPU 1 100% 300 GHz Shouldn't the GPU be about 60% to 80%. The above are examples, but I'm in the 89% to 98% 57% here. See attached screenshot. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Punisher74 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 What mission are you testing in, I am using a stock Campaign, maybe you are using something with more in it? Very basic. 6 vehicles on the whole map including the a-10c 1 trigger ai off. I added it so you can see on your boxA-10C Test2.miz Thanks, Lt. ody81 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Thats what I thought at first as well, but after an hour of trying many many different settings, the cause of this still alludes me, I still cant reproduce this, my FLIR view has no drops at all. What video card do you use Sith? Nevermind, saw it. So could it be a vram usage issue? If so, could it be fixed? Edited October 11, 2015 by ody81

Punisher74 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) 57% here. See attached screenshot. I tested the f-15c and GPU was around 98% and I was getting great FPS somewhere around 75 to 90 with 1 GPU, But if vsync on solid 60 I'm sure. With 2 gpu's with the f-15c FPS does drop, but the issue is a known issue. I'd also like higher msaa with f-15c but the higher above 4x the FPS drops dramatically. I hope the devs can figure this FLIR FPS issue. Question are you on Windows 10 or a not? Maybe I need to reinstall dx11, I just thought maybe it was corrupted by window 10 install. Manuel_108 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I have Windows 7, no programs running in the background, fullscreen mode on and no vehicles spawned exept the A-10. As soon as the FLIR or MAV displays are on, the game stutters when looking around in the cockpit or while turning.
whitehot Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I tested it with just one A-10C, no other planes or vehicles. Fps stay 120+ with no displays on. Seem to be reduced a little by turning on CCD camera on the litening, but go down to 70-80 when using FLIR. As a sidenote, many structures look wrong in FLIR: a bridge for example was displaying only its supporting pylons but not the "road" that paves it. I guess that a reduction in fps should be normal, yet it should stay in the same values for both using FLIR and CCD. One more thing, mirrors seem to produce the same, if not slightly lesser effect as FLIR, a sensible reduction in fps (and a significant increase in reported VRAM usage). Also a mission that works perfectly for you. Yeah, strange, by the look of your specs, you almost mirror my system. Here is my nVidia control panel settings, everything else is pretty much default, I run the beta on a standard Black WD HHD. Ragnarok Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Hi If someone came up with a solution? I also have a big fall FPS whit FLIR! From 100 to 22. Is it a bug or a GPU setting? My GPU - AMD RADEON HD 7850 “The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.” — George Orwell

Ragnarok Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) Solved! After setting cockpit resolution to 256 or 512, you must exit from DCS and start again! Restart DCS with changes is reason. FPS on me with both MFD with FLIR is more than 60. Edited October 11, 2015 by Ragnarok “The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.” — George Orwell
Punisher74 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Solved! After setting cockpit resolution to 256 or 512, you must exit from DCS and start again! Restart DCS with changes is reason. FPS on me with both MFD with FLIR is more than 60. I applauded you that's a great workaround, but its far from a solution. I can run in crossfire with the settings you suggested and get around 70 FPS with just TGP. That's still a drop from 120 FPS, and With both TGP and MAV its in the 50's. That's the Issue that both of those Camera's are causing a drop in FPS. For those with Single cards my readings were 80 FPS with TGP and MAV Off, TGP turned on 53 FPS and both MAV and TGP 38 FPS. With both MFCD's on MAV an TGP that's a 42 FPS Drop. Yes that's above 30 FPS, but that's a drop over 50%. That's deal able for now. But unacceptable, and needs to be fixed. Now also these numbers I'm giving you is while stationary on the ground, Flying is another all around mess with FPS when those Targeting systems are active. Thanks, Lt. =4c=Nikola Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 (edited) It's not perfect, but it's "playable" that way. Of course it needs to be fixed properly. At my underpowered GPU, it drops from 60 to 50 when use FLIR which is acceptable. Restraining to just one display for flir is pita though. Ragnarok Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 @raptorsim I have single GPU HD7850 and I have drop only 4-7FPS. Nikola with GTX460 similarly. Your problem is not just my advice, you have the problem "supersampling". Keep "multisampling". “The people will believe what the media tells them they believe.” — George Orwell

Your problem is not just my advice, you have the problem "supersampling". Keep "multisampling". Again I'm running 2 cards I can afford to have my settings higher then one card, the testers for ED have same or similar cards and can have their settings maxed. So the same should be for all of us. I spoke with AMD and the 200 series are able to Handle this new version of DCS on ultra with a crossfire enabled card. At 60 to 75 FPS. As for the supersampling, any less I cannot read the pit text. Sith's GTX780Ti that has 3gb of vram is running 2915mb in his screen( I do not know his resolution or Raptors) but, I doubt Sith is running 12x AA. Hope you guys get it worked out.
