*Rage* Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Hi, It seems with 1.5 the exhaust trail that was visible before is gone? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
Bourrinopathe Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 The heat blur? It's much more subtle now, but still visible: (external view, no DoF) /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
McBlemmen Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I haven't flown many aircraft in 1.5 yet but i can tell you the su 25T definately still(?) has a smokey exhaust trail
sobek Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 What plane, what's your hardware, screenshots, tracks. Guys, we are not psychic. Help us to help you by reading http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147710 Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
SpeedStick Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 I've flown the mig-21 for a couple of hours now and there is definitely a smoke trail. Its just more... "refined" now. More realisitc. Same for the F4 I saw. "Hard to imagine bigger engine. its got a beautiful face and an arse built like sputnik." - Pikey AKA The Poet, on 37 Viggen.
Czar66 Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 F-15C blackish smoke trail from engines does seem absent. Has it been reported? MiG-29 and 21 are still there and some others...
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Engine smoke for MiG-29 was far better than this new one. The lack of engine smoke is my only problem with this new edition.
NRG-Vampire Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 F-15C blackish smoke trail from engines does seem absent. Has it been reported? MiG-29 and 21 are still there and some others... you need a dx11 capable gfx card
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 New engine smoke I understand that the engine smoke is re-defined, I understand that the yellowish smoke is created for the min reheat/AB lit on/off because it is correct. But where is the stadard darker engine smoke especially for the MiG-29? Please set back the dark continous engine smoke for all planes (level is similar as previous, depending on aircraft types) and keep this new one as well. That would be nice.
Polo Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 you need a dx11 capable gfx card And don't turn off Tesselation in your graphic drivers control panel like I did... Ryzen 5800X3D | 64GB DDR4 @ 3600MHz | Gigabyte X570-Aorus Ultra | Gigabyte GeForce 4090 | Samsung C34F791 | Varjo Aero | Windows 11 Pro x64 | Auzentech X-Fi Forte | too many flight controllers...
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 But this is far from the real one. The previous version was quite realistic, this is not.
Bourrinopathe Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 The smoke trails may be less visible with the terrain in background but it doesn't seem that far from the real MiG-29: At least, it doesn't look like an oversight from ED or a bug. /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Interesting. On my PC this is not like on your photos. And below 95% rpm, the smoke is out. The smoke on my MiG-29 is appeared only between 95-100%. However, could you please show me photos about the Su-27 or F-15 as well? These planes are totally "lost" their smoke.
Brisse Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 These planes are totally "lost" their smoke. Only on your PC apparently :) What are your graphics settings, graphics card and driver version?
*Rage* Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 What plane, what's your hardware, screenshots, tracks. Guys, we are not psychic. Help us to help you by reading http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147710 Apologies. I have run the same mission in an unmodded DCS 1.2 and DCS 1.5. Same graphics settings (mostly high) on an i7-2700k@4.6Ghz and AMD HD 7970. From left to right - A10, F15, F86, Mig15, Mig21, Mig29, Su25T, Su27. Su33, Su25. DCS 1.2 DCS 1.5 DCS 1.2 DCS 1.5 You can clearly see I have lost all engine exhaust smoke trails for all aircraft in 1.5. I can post the track as well but I dont feel it will add anything. Let me know. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
*Rage* Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Interesting. On my PC this is not like on your photos. These planes are totally "lost" their smoke. Same as on mine. See screenshots here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2502744&postcount=10 Perhaps the threads could be merged? Moderators? Brisse Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 There has been more reports of this on the forum. Smoke is working for most of us, but is missing for some people. Not sure what causes it.
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Adjust heat blur effect a little - blurring from the front side of view of the plane The heat effect is improved, but this is blurring the plane not just behind, but from the front point of veiw. Somehow it should be blurring only through the gas flow, a little bit wider than the exhaust flame, but covering it, until the two flow mixing and join together. Behind the plane by a few meters.
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Yes, same as mine. Lets merge these two threads.
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Only on your PC apparently :) What are your graphics settings, graphics card and driver version? Geforce GTX 660Ti, driver is 347.25.
Allesmor Obranna Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 This is what I am really looking for :)
Sporg Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Are you sure you have a DX 11 compliant card and driver? It seems that smoke is a DX 11 only effect in 1.5. System specs: Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440) Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
Brisse Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Geforce GTX 660Ti, driver is 347.25. Let's try to narrow down the cause of the issue. Is anyone seeing this problem on AMD gpu's or is it only on nvidia? Personally, I am not having this issue on my AMD 290x with 15.8 driver.
*Rage* Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 ^^ I have no engine smoke on an AMD HD7970. See previous screenies comparing 1.2 to 1.5 for all most aircraft. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 64th "Scorpions" Aggressor Squadron Discord: 64th Aggressor Squadron TS: 195.201.110.22
