Force_Feedback Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Hmm, seems like that tu-22m3/4 got new brake pads (no chute used), this will end all those "russian planes don't have proper brakes" agruments. Also, the rate at which the flaps were retracted is also impressive (and no chute on the tu-160 either). Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
nscode Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 $(repacking a chute) << ($(new brakes) + $(new pneumatics))/N of hard brakings they last btw, does anybody have pictures of Tu-160's radar antenna? Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Trident Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 LOL! Aerobraking with a heavy intercontinental bomber, that's pretty neat actually :D
Kula66 Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 That T-22 is one beautiful plane! Another big Soviet scare to the West in the good old days!
Griphy Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 I forgot the name of the last plane but i always asked myself, how come it looks so mush like the b1 lol. Maybe its just me...
Force_Feedback Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 That T-22 is one beautiful plane! Another big Soviet scare to the West in the good old days! The merrikans are still afraid of it, but luckly, Ukraine dismantled the last one a few months ago, under the watchful eye of the US ambassador, come on 15 years without any kind of even thought towards nuclear proliferation, no military nuclear research, and being the only nation ever to willingly give up all kinds of nuclear weapons, they get the US ambassador to show up during the last dismantling ceremony (a big metal cutter which cuts the thing into pieces). Gogdamnit, how paranoia can the US be, argh. Besides that it ain't a bad country. The flap retraction rate on that tu-160 is unreal, in like 1 second the flaps went from full to none, guess military planes have more and powerful actuators. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Kula66 Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 I forgot the name of the last plane but i always asked myself, how come it looks so mush like the b1 lol. Maybe its just me... Same set of technical problems to solve, constrained by the same physics ... or did the US just copy the design? <- Only joking!!!!
Stormin Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I forgot the name of the last plane but i always asked myself, how come it looks so mush like the b1 lol. Maybe its just me... Tu-160 Nato Codename: Blackjack. It is much larger than the B-1B. Excellent video. I really enjoyed watching it.
nscode Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 It is much larger than the B-1B. That's because spy photos weren't in scale :smilewink: Anyway, it's no secret that the designers were in a bit of hurry and money shortage, so they copied a bit from american colledgues. All shame goes on US side for not being able to keep their seacrets. Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

All shame goes on US side for not being able to keep their seacrets. I thought the tu-160 was a copy of the tu-144, never the b-1. They needed a fast, lang range bomber that could carry lots of weapons, swing-wing design is a very logical choice then. US also "copied" the mig-25, but such shape is just good as it gives lots of lift, and can make Israeli pilots brag about landing it with 1 wing. Did such thing in lomac too, even with the su-25(t), I'm not all like "omg watch this". (ok, I know lomac is not real life, but heck) Those tu-160 flaps are scary, 4 seconds to cycle from full to none. The Su-34 is better, and has a smaller rcs, although a "cruise missile" rcs is still big these days, with all the software filtering the signals (okay, soft. was also used in the seventies, but less sophisticated) Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
diveplane Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 here they are all flying together, these planes put a lot off fear in the west in the 60s 70s 80s.... incredible.....clip http://www.flightlevel350.com/Aircraft_Tupolev_-_All_models-Airline_Various_Airlines_Aviation_Video-5501.html https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.

diveplane Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 really glad west and east knew the reality off nuclear weapons use, and that in the event off using them, the land that your enemy was once on, is now radiated waste land for thousands of years..... not to meantion global climate change and radiation clouds traveling around the globe....eventually killing us all..... well on 2 points in history it nearly went hot twice, 1 being the cuban missile crisis......and another incident.....i cant quite recall..... https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
